Richard "Dick" Lorton, age 88, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.
He was born Wednesday, July 11, 1928 a son of the late JB and Opal (Feltman) Lorton.
Dick was a fixture at the Greenville Elks for over 60 years. He enjoyed cards. He owned Lorton Taxi for 5 years and worked at Union City Body Company for 30 years before retiring.
Dick is survived by his wife of 71 years, Fay (Birt) Lorton, whom he married in March, 1945.
In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by his two children, Jim (Marilyn) Lorton and Jill (Rick) Thompson both of Greenville, OH; three grandchildren, Jamie (Billy) Swartz of North Port, FL, Jeff May of Pitsburg, OH, and Jennifer (Charlie) Pauly of Greenville, OH, seven great grandchildren, Skylarr Deeter, Tori Swartz, Bill Swartz, Brody May, Clay Buckingham, Lacy Henniger and Madison Pauly; and four great-great grandchildren, Lucas Burnette, Everleigh Aust, Owyn Aust, and Kayden Buckingham.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit Friday, January 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, OH.
