Roger was born November 27, 1949, in Darke County to Donald L. & Thelma M. (Stephan) Burns of Minster.
In addition to his parents, Roger is also survived by his siblings, Virgil & Lynda Burns of Greenville, Bonnie & Larry Rismiller of New Bremen, Joyce & Jon Parin of Vandalia, Marlin & Lisa Burns of Troy, Theresa & Tony Speelman of Anna and Denise & Doug Jutte of Minster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Roger worked at Stolle Machinery in Sidney for 15 years where he was a press operator, Clean-All in Sidney for 9 years and delivered the Sidney Daily Newspaper in Versailles. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church near North Star and attended the Webster United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery near North Star. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church 13495 Greenville St. Marys Rd.
