Dale J. Michael, 76, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at the Bethel Pointe Health and Rehab in Muncie, Indiana.
He was born on October 19, 1943, in Greenville to the late Dale Leaman and Ester Marie (Sanders) Michael.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alaira Michael; his stepfather, Cy Stukenburg; and his brothers-in-law, Paul Siefring and Jim Thornsberry.
Dale was a graduate of Ansonia High School and spent many years working for BASF in Greenville. When he was not working, Dale loved and appreciated the outdoors. It was not uncommon to find Dale in his favorite hunting spot or going fishing in Canada. He enjoyed camping and boating as well. Dale enjoyed tending to his garden and planting fruit trees. He liked watching western movies and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Dale is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ella Mae (Thornsberry) Michael, whom he married on November 12, 1966; his children, Sandy Snyder and her husband, Troy, of Greenville, Les Michael of Eldridge, Iowa, and Matt Michael and his wife, Christina, of Union City, Indiana; his grandchildren, Alexa Snyder, Emily Snyder, Nick Snyder, Ben Bagozzi, Gabe Fulton, Aurora Michael, Owen Michael, Eli Michael, and Wyatt Michael; his sisters, Sonja Kay Siefring of Greenville, and Sharon Wissman and her husband, Dale, of Russia, Ohio; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Hagelberger and her husband, Larry, of Anna, Ohio, and Peggy Thornsberry of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dale’s life will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2020, at the Greenville Baptist Temple with Pastor Dan Berdine officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens near Greenville.
Guests may visit with Dale’s family on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
