JoAnn Thompson age 90, of Greenville and formerly of Union City, Ohio passed away at 2:55 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Defiance Hospice Center in Defiance.
JoAnn was born March 6, 1930, in Greenville to the late Charles & Mabel (Mann) Sharp. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Thompson on May 7, 1991, whom she married April 22, 1950; brothers, Wayne, Max, Jack, Adrian and George Sharp; and sister, Marjorie Strait.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Scott (Joy) Thompson of Union City, Ohio and Vicki (Robert Evans) Carey of Van Wert; grandchildren, Randy (Leigh) Carey of Grover Hill, Shannon (Tamie) Carey of Marysville, Erin (Omar Veerjee) Carey of Tampa, Florida, Lance (Brittany Runner) Thompson of Union City, Ohio and Logan Thompson of Union City, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Harley, Frankie, Dylann, Joey Kate, Georgie, Kade, Chelsey, Maddison, Lana, Beaux, Hattie, Finn, Celia, Hannah and Abbi; great-great grandson, Krue; brothers, Gerald (Arlene) Sharp of Greenville and Larry (Patty) Sharp of Lancaster; aunt, Mary Alice Redmond of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was a homemaker and clerked for Robert Thompson Auctioneering. She was a member of the Greenville Moose, Greenville Eagles, Greenville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Greenville and Union City Elks.
