Robert W. Kruckeberg, has placed his final nail in his stairway to Heaven laying his hammer down August 11, 2020 at 11:15 PM. Bob was born in Froid, Montana October 7, 1934 to Walter Charles Kruckeberg and Chelcie Luella (Sebring) Kruckeberg, Returning to Ohio as a young boy his love for Montana never left him. Bob spent his years after high school (graduate of ’52) working for Poultry Producers, driving for C & G Trucking developing his skills as a carpenter that served him well for 50 years. Bob wrote poetry, sometimes on a scrap of wood “Whatever’s handy”, was an avid reader and said he felt he had lived a good life, did everything he ever wanted and more. Bob married Dorothy Raverty June 6, 1953, they enjoyed 60 years before her passing in 2013. Of this union three children were born Steven Jay in 1954 who passed in 2010 in Montana, Terri Robin in 1957 who resides in Piqua with husband Terry Livesay and Robert Joseph in 1959 who resides in Versailles with wife Diana.
Bob lived his dream and returned to Montana with Dorothy in 1979 where he would continue his trade for 25 years and developing friendships that would last the rest of his life. Bob and Dorothy returned to Ohio in 2009 to live and be closer to family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son as well as sisters: Esther Heft, Florence Putterbaugh, and Laura Batty and great grandchildren: Adrian, Aleigha, and Liam Kruckeberg. He is survived by his sister Alice Swinger of Greenville and brother Lawrence Kruckeberg and his wife Suzette of Versailles. He is further survived by granddaughter Jamie Livesay, great grandsons Casey Livesay, Tyler Richards, and great granddaughter Jessie Richards, as well as granddaughter Kiersten Finlay, grandsons Justin, Austin, Brian Kruckeberg, Nathanial and Gabriel Richardson, great grandchildren Mailani Barber, Kerry Miller, and Ava Kruckeberg, granddaughter Chelcie Patterson and grandson Robert Monnin. There are many nieces and nephews included in these descendants.
Bob will return to Montana once again as he wished “to be spread amongst the sage.”
Due to Covid-19, the family does not wish to encourage a memorial gathering at this time but would like to thank those in advance of your many thoughts and prayers.
