Betty L. (Gower) Sleppy age 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 11:20 P.M. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Betty was born July 31, 1927 in Castine, Ohio, to the late Perry & Dana (Seman) Gower.
Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Smith; brothers, Adrian, Harvey and Dick Gower, and Paul Youst; and sisters, Mary Baslinger and Phyllis Kuhnle.
Betty is survived by her children, Robert E. & Peg Miller of Parker, Colorado, Beverly (Miller) & Robert Cage of Houston, Texas, Steve Miller of Greenville, and Cindy (Miller) & Dennis Barhorst of Winder, Georgia; son-in-law, Duane Smith of Soldotna, Alaska; step son, Terry & Glenna Sleppy of Bailey, Colorado; grandchildren, Heath Miller & Marnie Stieb, Dr. Shaun & Sarah Miller, Melissa & David Derouen, Nathan Smith and Katherine Cage; step grandchildren, Tyler Barhorst and Tia & Joe Tid; 5 great grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law, Pat & Dale Riffle of Greenville and Fran & Sam Whitt of Midland, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Youst of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, with Rev. Lowell Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
