He was born in Piqua, son of Wilbur L. McMaken of Greenville and the late Betty J. (Byers) McMaken.
Stephen was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the VFW in Greenville.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Crawford) McMaken; children, Troy C. McMaken and Tara M. McMaken-Timmons both of Nashville, TN; step-children, Jennifer Strong of Cleveland and Jessie Strong of Greenville; grandchildren, Lauren McMaken and Mary Timmons; a brother, Fred (Pat) McMaken of Greenville; and a sister, Charlene (fiance Tom Bowman) Pickerill of Centerburg, OH; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 10:00am, at the Greenville VFW Hall, 219 N. Ohio Street, Greenville.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to help defray funeral expenses.
