Roger D. Magoto (April 13, 2010)

Roger D. Magoto age 62, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his residence. Roger was born January 7, 1948 in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Paul & Hilda (Severt) Magoto.

Roger retired from General Motors in Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and the Versailles Eagles Aerie # 2347.

In addition to his parents, Roger is also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Lee Magoto.

Roger is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Davidson) Magoto, whom he married June 26, 1971. He is also survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Jamie & Dana Magoto of Russia; daughter & son-in-law, Renee & Dane Miller of Versailles; grandchildren, Damon, Kaleb, Grifon, Xavier, Kaden, Sayer & Finley; brothers & sisters-in-law, Michael & Kathy Magoto of Russia and Carl & Helen Magoto of Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
