Catherine (Mong) Byrne, age 92, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born June 11, 1920 in Greenville, Ohio. She was the daughter of Chester and Gennieve Mong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marcena Byrne, brothers LaDon Mong, Morris Mong and a sister Jennetta Stockslager.
She is survived by her son, M. Mikel Byrne (wife Vicki) of Middlesboro, KY; grandson Jon-Mikel Byrne (wife Bryant) of Charleston, SC; a great- granddaughter Kylie Blair Byrne of Charleston, SC; a sister Faye Cook of Matlacha, FL; nephews, Ronald Mong of Upper Sandusky, OH, Donald Mong of Lake City, FL, John Stockslager, Harold Stockslager, both of Greenville, OH, Phillip Stockslager of FL; and a niece, Janet Hunley, of Indianapolis, IN.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 26 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio with Catherines's great nephew Rev. Tony Hunley officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m.

Mary Kathryn (Schlamb) Carnahan (June 20, 2012)
Mary Kathryn (Schlamb) Carnahan passed away June 20, 2012 in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 97. She as a native of Rose Hill and Lightsville, Ohio and grew up around the Greenville area. She married Leonard Carnahan February 14, 1935. They lived in various places but eventually settled in Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Olive Schlamb, husband Leonard L. Carnahan, son Larry E. Carnahan, two sisters Carma Cline and Edna Hetzler, and grandson Mark Brandt.
She is survived by sister Treva Shafer of Greenville, daughters Mary Ann Owens of Palm Coast, FL, and Carol Perko of Fallbrook, CA, daughter-in-law Mary Lou Carnahan of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren Kathy Ayala, Charlene Migliorini, and John Carnahan all of Los Angeles, CA, Cindy Forsyth of Goleta, CA, Misty Artz of Palm Coast, Steven Rue of Los Angeles, CA, Mary Ellen Oechsle of Hillsborough, NC, Doug Perko and David Perko both of San Diego, CA, and Cheryl Bacon of Washington, DC, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Eleanor T. Sackett (June 20, 2012)
Eleanor T. Sackett, age 86 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:33 P.M. Wednesday June 20, 2012 in Wayne HealthCare Center. She was born November 21, 1925 in Jewett, Illinois and the daughter of the late Theodore R. & Bertha (Huisinga) Callahan.
Eleanor retired in 1986 from the Darke County Health Department and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Sackett February 6, 1996.
Eleanor is survived by her sons and daughters in law Thomas F. & Kathy Sackett of Pataskala, Ohio and J. David & Paula Sackett of Gahanna, Ohio. Grandchildren Mark Sackett, Todd Sackett, Holli Rousseau, Jennifer Sackett & Nicole Sackett. Great grandchildren Braydan Sackett, Ivy Sackett, Merin Sackett, Tyler Sackett, Lauren Sackett, Regan Rousseau and Reed Rousseau. Sister Leonora Emery of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., brother Donald Callahan of Houston, Texas as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Edgar K. Brown, 95, of Greenville, died Saturday morning June 16, 2012, at the Brethren Retirement Community. He was born April 8, 1917 in New Madison to the late Charles and Opal (Karns) Brown.
Edgar was the retired Post Master of the Arcanum Post Office working for 34 years, retiring in 1976, and had a local bookkeeping and tax service. Edgar was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Arcanum; a veteran of the US Navy, WWII; Past Commander of the Arcanum American Legion; Lifetime member of the VFW; member and past President of the Arcanum Lions Club ;past Master of the Arcanum Masonic Lodge; member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; Antioch Shrine Club; and the Darke County Shrine Club.
Edgar was preceded in death by 2 brothers Lloyd and Paul Brown and a sister Thelma Griffiths.
He is survived by his wife Lova ( Martin) Brown whom he married Nov. 30 1938; daughters Joyce Feitshans and husband Robert, Janice Armacost and husband Edward both of of Arcanum; son Joe Brown of Lake Wiley, SC; grandchildren Greg (Lisa) Feitshans, Cristal (Doug) Chumney, Tami Meeks, Tanya (Donnie) Baker, Mart (Kathy) Brown, Matt (Andi) Brown, Josh Brown, Tracy (Leslie) Brooks, Gavin (Pam) Brown; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great granddaughters.

Harry Beryl Breckenridge (June 14th, 2012)
Harry Beryl Breckenridge, 85, of Arcanum, died Thursday, June 14th, 2012 at Heartland of Greenville. Mr. Breckenridge was born in Bradford on June 30, 1926, the son of the late Roy Breckenridge and Olive A. (Skinner) Klopfer. He was the owner of the former Twin Appliance Store, Arcanum. He was a U.S. Army WW II veteran and member of the VFW Post 4161, Arcanum; member of the Arcanum Masonic Lodge, former council member for the village of Arcanum and a former BSA Scoutmaster. Beryl was preceded in death by 2 Brothers Lyle Shafer and Roy Milton Breckenridge. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Albrecht) Breckenridge, whom he married May 29, 1948; Daughter Sharon Stump and husband Billy of Coldwater; Sons Bill Carter and wife Linda of Piqua and Gary Breckenridge and wife Carol of Arcanum; Grandchildren Amee (Ryan) Selig, Jason (Jess) Carter, Emilee (Travis) Bird, Erin Carter, Brandi (Josh) Curtis, Rodney (April) Stump, and Megan (Andy) Pearson; Great Grandchildren Zao, Devon, and Dakota Curtis, Caden, Chase, Alex Stump, Zachary Carter, and Addyson Bird. William M. (Bill) Randall (June 18, 2012)
William M. (Bill) Randall succumbed after a 4 ½ year courageous battle with cancer on June 18, 2012 at the age of 51.
Bill was born June 24, 1960 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of Mike and Anne Randall.
He was preceded in death by Grandparents E.R. and Lenore Randall and Robert and Alice Beynon.
Survivors in addition to Bill’s parents are brothers Pat (Cheri) Randall of Houston, Texas and John (Annette) Randall of Greenville. His children Ben, Lauren and Alec all of Greenville, granddaughter Jersee, nephews Zac and Shawn, niece Nicole and her daughter Jazalynn.
Bill graduated from Greenville High School in 1978. He served in the U.S. Navy four years aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was employed at Randall Insurance Agency from May 24, 1989 until his death.
Bill served as a Trustee of the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Ohio, was active in Greenville Rotary Club and loved to play golf.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday June 22, 2012 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Peter Menke officiating. Marjorie P. Stuart (June 17, 2012)
Marjorie P. Stuart, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:40 A.M. Sunday June 17, 2012 at the Brethren Retirement Center Greenville, Ohio. Marjorie was born September 18, 1919 in Middleburg, New York and the daughter of the late Elwin and Cathryn (West) Posson.
Marjorie graduated from Middleburg High School as the Valedictorian of her class at the age of 16. She also received a degree from Albany Business School. Marjorie later retired as a Tax Examiner with the Internal Revenue Service in the Atlanta, Georgia office and was well known in the Greenville area as a tax preparer for approximately 17 years.
She and her husband started a church in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in the 1950’s that is still open today. Marge enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being active in many areas of the churches she attended in Massachusetts, New York, Georgia and Trinity Wesleyan here in Greenville where she had been a member for 37 years. Marge was a prayer warrior and loved by all who knew her. She was also a former member of the Darke County Chapter of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Myrna Jean Stuart in 1962; two brothers and six sisters.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Delbert P. Stuart of Greenville. They were married September 22, 1942. Also by her daughter and son in law Pat and Steve Longfellow of Greenville; two grandchildren Jeannie (Aaron) Reid of New London, Minnesota; Doug (Kelli) Longfellow of
Greenville. Five great grandchildren; Gregory Reid, Daniel Reid, Jonathan Reid, Hope Reid and Aleta Longfellow and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers in law Rev. Elwood Stuart of Greenville and Everett Stuart of Wells, New York.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday June 22, 2012 in the Trinity Wesleyan Church 1400 East Main St., Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the services in the church.

Marjorie graduated from Middleburg High School as the Valedictorian of her class at the age of 16. She also received a degree from Albany Business School. Marjorie later retired as a Tax Examiner with the Internal Revenue Service in the Atlanta, Georgia office and was well known in the Greenville area as a tax preparer for approximately 17 years.
She and her husband started a church in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in the 1950’s that is still open today. Marge enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being active in many areas of the churches she attended in Massachusetts, New York, Georgia and Trinity Wesleyan here in Greenville where she had been a member for 37 years. Marge was a prayer warrior and loved by all who knew her. She was also a former member of the Darke County Chapter of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Myrna Jean Stuart in 1962; two brothers and six sisters.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Delbert P. Stuart of Greenville. They were married September 22, 1942. Also by her daughter and son in law Pat and Steve Longfellow of Greenville; two grandchildren Jeannie (Aaron) Reid of New London, Minnesota; Doug (Kelli) Longfellow of
Greenville. Five great grandchildren; Gregory Reid, Daniel Reid, Jonathan Reid, Hope Reid and Aleta Longfellow and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers in law Rev. Elwood Stuart of Greenville and Everett Stuart of Wells, New York.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday June 22, 2012 in the Trinity Wesleyan Church 1400 East Main St., Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the services in the church.

Frances Rosetta (Fiste) Hubler (June 18, 2012)
Frances Rosetta (Fiste) Hubler, 66, of Phillipsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on the morning of June 18, 2012. Fran was born on November 4, 1945 to the late Benjamin Franklin and Matilda Frances (Trapp) Fiste.
Fran enjoyed gardening, sewing, finishing furniture, knitting, bowling and canning beets and salsa among other things. She worked at a plastics factory and a military boot factory during her life, and was a seamstress. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Fran is preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Evans and Sandra Penny; and a brother, Lewis Fiste.
Fran is survived by her loving husband, Harry Lewis Hubler, Sr. whom she married on December 11, 1965; two sons, Harry L., Jr. (Bud) and Miriam Hubler of Monticello, Kentucky and Benjamin L. and Melissa Hubler of Albers, Illinois; two daughters, April S. and Robert Osborne of New Madison, Ohio and Charman L. and Kenton Cole of Lomax, Illinois ; sixteen grandchildren, Joshua and Avery Cole, Justin Cole, Darlene and Scott Meyers, Robert and Jayme Osborne II, Jeffrey Osborne, Allison Osborne, Harry Hubler III, Brandi Hubler, Eli Hubler, Zachariah Hubler, Adryan Schwahn, Montgomery Hubler and Carter Hubler; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Cole, Averi Cole, Hunter Meyers and Alyssa Osborne; four brothers, Ronald and Donna Fiste, Samuel Fiste, Robert and Treva Fiste, and Phil and Cindy Fiste; a sister, Grace Fiste; and a brother-in-law, JC Penny; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alma T. Treon age 95, of Versailles, passed away at 10:18 A.M. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Versailles Health Care Center. Alma was born October 11, 1916 in Darke County, to the late Sebastian & Emma (Watren) Marshal.
Alma is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, George F. & Sharon Treon of Versailles and David L. & Rosie Treon of St. Marys; daughters & sons-in-law, Emma J. & Russell Scott of Dayton and Marilyn M. & Ronald Dirksen of New Weston; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; special friend, Nellie Upchurch of Dawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard E. Westerman age 84 of Vandalia and formerly of Greenville, passed away at 1:20 P.M. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brookville. Richard was born February 1, 1928 in Greenville, to the late Chester & Charlene (Snider) Westerman.
Richard is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Dirk & Denette Westerman of Clay Center, Kansas; grandsons, Kyle, Kaleb, Keenan and Kirby Westerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard is also preceded in death by his brothers, Vaughn & Mark Westerman; and sisters; Mary Catherine Halley, Virginia Plessinger and Jane Westerman.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He attended Miami University. Richard was a brick mason, architect and draftsman. Richard was a member of the Greenville V.F.W.; Greenville American Legion and the Greenville Elks.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Dirk Westerman and Rev. Stanley Ward officiating. Dwight David "Panama" Idle (June 13, 2012)
Dwight David "Panama" Idle, age 55 of Greenville Ohio, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Saturday, June 9 near Ansonia.
David is survived by his significant other of 24 years, Misti Crowell and a son, Tyler David, age 14. David is also survived by his father, Robert Calvin Idle of New Weston, seven sisters, Cheryl Ruse, Phyllis M. Poling, Diana Idle, Mindy Rammel, Marilyn Darner and brother-in-law Ray Darner, Schanda Black and brother-in-law Richie Black, Wanda and brother-in-law Jessie Hicks and numerous neices and nephews. Preceding David in death is his Mother, Wanda Lee (Brewer) Idle, two brothers, William Idle and Robert Idle and nephews, Rob Idle, Ben Winger and Josh Rammel. Surviving extended family members are Jim and Luanne Leistner, Michael Crowell Sr, Mike and Sherry Crowell, Matt and Valerie Crowell, Amy Remley and Angela Smith.
David was born on November 25, 1956 in Miami County and worked at Fort Recovery Equity in Fort Recovery, Ohio. David was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Greenville Moose.

He was born July 21, 1921 in Darke County, Ohio, son of the late Roy Gilbert and Esta Opal(Hamilton) Steed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; his wife, Deloris (Sanders) Steed on April 17, 2006; a daughter, Sharon Lee Steed; a son-in-law, Bill McGlothin; a brother, Chester Steed; and a sister, Carol Baker.
Charles had worked as a mechanic for the former Hamilton Motors in Greenville for several years. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during War World II. He was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church and the VFW in Greenville.
He is survived by his children, Charlene McGlothin, Tony Steed; grandchildren, Kyle McGlothin, Shaun Shell, Mindi Steed, Brittney Steed; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Adalynne McGlothin; brothers, Chalmer Steed, Rodney Steed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth S. Fowble, 93, of Eaton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his residence on June 13, 2012. He was born in Preble County on April 15, 1919 to the late Tebe and Myrtle (Shillenburg) Beard.
Kenneth was a retired self employed electrician throughout his life. He was a 1937 graduate of Monroe High School and enjoyed being a part time farmer.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife Martha Lea (Stephens) Fowble who passed away in 1972 and a infant son Scotty Fowble.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Blanche M. (Juras) Fowble whom he loved for over 37 years; two sons, Steve and wife Susan Fowble of Greenville and Doug Fowble of Centerville; a daughter Linda and husband Marlin Falknor of New Madison; two step sons, Greg and wife Cheryl Jacklin of Eaton, Ohio and George Jacklin of Michigan; a step daughter, Beverly Henne also of Michigan; grandchildren, Dr. Vincent Fowble of Florida, Seth Fowble of Dayton, Jeff and wife Kelly Falknor of Arcanum and Marlinda Falknor of Union, Ohio. Robert Carl Barker (June 11, 2012)
Robert Carl Barker, 65, of New Madison, passed away early Monday morning, June 11, 2012 at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.
He was born August 18, 1946 in Alliance, OH, son of the late Milford Vernie and Ina Mae (Hamm) Barker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Larry Allen Barker, Susan Elizabeth Barker, Kenneth Arlin Barker, Mary Louise Pelamati, and Clarence Ray Barker.
Robert had worked at Alliance Structural from August of 1964 till June of 1965 at which time he had joined the US Navy and serving from July 7, 1965 till he was honorably discharged on July 7, 1969. He then went to work for Delco Moraine (Delphi) from August 1969 till his retirement in May of 1999.
He was a member of the Friendship Community Church, New Paris, OH, the VFW in Brookville, Ohio, and the American Legion in Hollansburg, OH.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty M. (Hartzell) Barker, whom he married February 15, 1969; children, Heather (Tony) Chittum, Allen P. Barker, Sheryl (Joe) Gose, and Angela (fiancee, Jerry Mills) Barker; grandchildren, Connor Chittum, Isabella Chittum, Elijah Gose, and Rachel Gose; brothers and sisters, Goldie Ball, Dottie Elkins, Gary Barker, Donna Barker, Debbie Sammons, and Ricky (Tawny) Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 16, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH with Pastor Dennis Riffell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Gideon International.

Kamara Leann Smith, age 2 months and 9 days, infant daughter of Jon Smith and Tina Brown of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:17 A.M. Sunday June 10, 2012 in the emergency room of Wayne HealthCare Center of Greenville. Kamara was born April 1, 2012 in Greenville, Ohio.

Barbara Louise (Rodgers) Ricker, 80, of New Madison, passed away peacefully at her home on June 11, 2012. Barbara was born in Richmond Indiana on May 8, 1932 to the late Clyde and Louise (Snyder) Rodgers.
Barbara worked as a Domestic Engineer during her life. She was a member of the ETA PI Kappa sorority and a bingo club. Barbara loved to bowl. She was an avid card sender and was a giver often giving to TBN.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death byher husband, Rodney N. Ricker, her son, Tony C. Ricker and great grandson Jorden Pond.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Rick and wife Kim Ricker of Greenville and Randy and Terry Ricker of Union City, Ohio; a daughter, Rhonda Lavy of New Madison; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Joan and husband Jim Meyers and a brother-in-law, Leon and Esther Ricker.

Carol S. Arnold, age 61, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on June 6, 2012 at 2:14 AM at Heartland of Eaton in Eaton, Ohio. She was born on June 10, 1950 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Melvin “Mick” & Mary Lou (Fitzgerald) Newbauer.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Arnold of Fort Payne, Alabama; children, Ashley N. (Peter) Kitchen of San Marcos, Texas, Amy L. (Timothy) Burt of Fort Payne, Alabama, James T. Mathews of Winchester, Indiana, Mathew M. (Carla) Mathews of Fort Payne, Alabama, Amanda J. (Terry) Potts of Valley Head, Alabama, Candice S. (Brad) Bass of Menlo, Georgia, and Angelica E. Cotterman of Imperial, Missouri; and 16 grandchildren.
Carol was a nursing assistant for Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri and also worked for the country band Alabama.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Jim Leonard officiating. Edna D. Martin, age 94, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Versailles Health Care Center. She was born on June 14, 1917 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Gust W. & Emma (Sander) Deubner.
Edna is survived by her son, Larry D. Martin of Versailles, Ohio; grandchildren, Carolyn K. Martin and husband Tim Kleunder and Diane E. McGuire and husband Doug; great grandchildren, William and Wesley Martin, Kayla, Hayden and Mara McGuire; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer D. Martin whom she married on June 14, 1941; daughter in law, Marilyn Martin; sisters, Esther Davis, Alice Bingham, Clara Kruckeberg, and Doris Graff; brothers, Fred Deubner and Bill Deubner.
Edna was the store manager for Martin’s Department Store in Versailles for 34 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years and was involved in the Lutheran Church Women’s organization, Sunday School Teacher and was the first lady on the church council. She was also a member of the Versailles Council of Churches for 10 years were she served as the treasurer, Order of the Eastern Star, Quest Club, she delivered Meals on Wheels and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.
There will be a service held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 204 East Wood Street, Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Robert Akins officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 3-6 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio, as well as one hour prior to the service at church.

Janice Sue Filbrun (June 1, 2012)
Janice Sue Filbrun daughter of James T. and Bernice (Austin) Oyler, was born August 14, 1943 in Clinton County, Indiana. She departed this life June 1, 2012 in an auto accident at the age of 68 years, 9 months, and 18 days.
Realizing the need of a Savior, she was baptized on November 30, 1958 into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church to which she remained faithful. During previous illnesses she received much comfort from the anointing services.
She was united in marriage on June 25, 1961 to Marlin E. Filbrun the son of Floyd and Mary Filbrun. This union was blessed with five daughters and two sons: Carol and Mark Garber of New Madison, Ohio, Yvonne and Philip Bower of Greenville, Ohio, Aurelia and Ryan Davison of Garnett, Kansas, Colleen and Steve Skiles of Union City, Ohio, Rachel and Daniel Garber of Englewood, Ohio, Arlin and Elizabeth Filbrun of Lewisburg, Ohio, Harlen and Kristy Filbrun of Lewisburg, Ohio.
At seventeen years of age Janice moved from Indiana to Ohio.
In 1973 she moved to Brazil with her husband, children, and other family. Three and one half years later she moved back to Ohio for the remainder of her life.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents. Left to mourn her passing are her loving husband of nearly fifty one years, all of her previously named children, two sisters and one brother: Michele and William Brubaker, Nancy and Dennis Flora, and James A. and Donna Oyler. Also left are thirty-one grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at Shady Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 1887 Beamsville Union City Road, Union City, Ohio with the officiating Old German Baptist Brethren. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Palestine, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday June 5, 2012 at Shady Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Union City, Ohio. James F. Deniston, 83, of Greenville, passed away Friday evening, June 1, 2012 at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.
He was born October 15, 1928 in Union City, OH, son of the late Franklin James and Kathryn (Medlam) Deniston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua; a brother, Joe Deniston; and a sister, Mary Cahill.
Jim was retired after 30 years of service in the US Air Force. He then had worked for the next 10 years at Case Power and Equipment formerly in Greenville. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Luella M. (Braun) Deniston, whom he married November 27, 1954; children, Edward Deniston of Westland, MI, Barbara Tobias of Greenville, and Michael Deniston of Greenville; grandchildren, Tricia, Kia, Chris, and Jamie; great grandchildren, Kila, Kara, Jasmine, Savannah, Emmalyn, Conner, and Madison; brothers and sisters, Ed Deniston of Miamisburg, Candy Cross of Winchester, IN, John Deniston of Nebraska, Evelyn Grow, of Union City, OH, Ann Consillio of Palm Bay, FL, Sara VanSkyack of Fortville, IN, and Patsy Sheets of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was born February 5, 1929 in Rossburg, daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Irene (Moyer) Schlechty. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Effie and Hershel Lamey. In addition to them, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace R. Sanders; a great granddaughter; a great grandson; step mother, Ruth Schlechty; brother, Charles Schlechty; step brothers, Marvin and Paul Howdieshell; step sister, Marjorie Gilbert; sister-in-law, Joyce Thornhill; and a brother-in-law, Donald Dull.
Louise had worked 17 years at Roll Turkey Farms and for several more years as a seamstress for JoAnn Fabrics and Omni. She was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Ange) Sanders, Irene (Norman) Weaver, Sandra (Fred) Welch, and Audry (Rodney) Minnich; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sisters, Alice (Robert) Wade, Imogene Dull; half brothers, Keith (Sue) Schlechty and Steve Schlechty; step sister, Mary Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard A. Graeff (May 31, 2012)
Richard A. Graeff died Thursday 5/31/2012 at the Brethren Retirement Home in Greenville. Dick was born April 2, 1928 to the late Charles and Hazel Graeff in Dover, Ohio. A member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Arcanum, he served as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and on the administrative board. Dick graduated from Dover High School and Wittenberg University, and was a corporal in the U.S. Army, WWII. Dick was a teacher and Asst. Principal at Arcanum for 28 years, retiring in 1978. He is probably best remembered as coach of the state basketball champions of 1969, and reaching the final four in both 1967 and 1976. He also coached the track team to a state championship in 1969. After retiring from teaching, he worked as a loan officer for Gem City Savings, for Sears, sold sporting goods and Sanco Products, and worked for WDRK radio. Dick went on to serve 4 years as Mayor of Arcanum, 16 years as Darke County Commissioner, and 6 years as a trustee for Edison Community College. He was a former member of the Greenville Elks, a 50 year member of Arcanum Lions Club, 32 degree Mason, Valley of Dayton, Shrine member of both Dayton and Darke County, inducted in the Ohio High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Arcanum High School Hall of Fame, and given the Nasmith Basketball Award. He was also 1st Vice Chairman of the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. Preceding him in death were his parents, his Sister Charlotte Graeff Maun, Brother William Graeff, and in-laws John and Bessie Jones. Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Jones Graeff, and his daughters Gretchen and Terry Hawk of Tipp City, Lisa and Ken Simko of Mentor, and Molly and Robert Smart of Clayton. Four grandchildren: Alex and Bekka Simko, Brittany and Brenna Smart, and one great grandson, Ashton Brown. He had numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services 1:00 PM, Tuesday 6/5/2012, at Faith United Methodist Church, Arcanum with Rev Mick Whistler officiating. Burial in Newcomer Cemetery. Visitation 5 - 8 PM Monday at Faith United Methodist Church, Arcanum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hope Foundation of Darke County for the Dick Graeff Scholarship Fund or to Faith United Methodist Church of Arcanum.
