Larry A. Alexander (June 12, 2012)

Larry A. Alexander age 70, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away at 11:58 P.M. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. Larry was born October 27, 1941 in Ansonia, Ohio, to the late Paul & Goldie (Bowers) Alexander.

Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara L. (Hardesty) Alexander whom he married September 11, 1966. He is also survived by his children, Charles W. Alexander & Randy Kulac of Florida, Barbara A. & David Hawkins of North Carolina and Becky L. Meade of Kentucky; grandchildren, Charles Alexander, James Alexander, Walter Alexander, Jeffery Kulac, Jermey Johnson, Nicole “Nikki” Johnson, Hayley Alexander and Kenneth Meade Jr.; 3 great grandchildren and 1 on the way ; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jim & Melody Alexander of Covington, Ohio, Kenneth Alexander of Covington, Ohio, and Rick & Corinna Alexander of Versailles, Ohio; uncle, Eddie & Maxine Alexander of Covington, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Larry is also preceded in death by his grandparents.

Larry worked at Del Mar in Union City, Indiana, for 32 years and Lambert Corporation in Ansonia, Ohio, for 7 years. Larry served on the Ansonia Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years and the Ansonia Police Department Auxiliary for 25 years. Larry served as Police Chief in Rossburg for 2 years. Larry was a charter member of the Ansonia Rescue Squad; member of the Greenville Odd Fellows; member of the Sons of the American Legion in Ansonia and the Union City Eagles Lodge.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in Ansonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
