Mary Ann is survived by her children and their spouses, Nancy (Bub) Bomholt of Maria Stein, Ohio, Keith (Suzanne) Nieberding of Leo, Indiana, David (Ruta) Nieberding of Delta, Ohio, Katherine (Fiancé Bill) York of Gettysburg, Ohio, Jane Plants of Berea, Kentucky, and Bill (Nancy) Nieberding of Columbus, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters in law, Bernadine Niekamp of Rossburg, Ohio, and Alice “Sarie” Niekamp of Osgood, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Barney” Nieberding; brothers, Victor Niekamp and Orville Niekamp.
She retired as the Senior Volunteer Program Director for the Council on Rural Services after many years of service. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star and Business & Professional Women’s Club. She volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity, State of the Heart Hospice, and Darke County Center for the Arts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Zink and Rev. Fr. Rick Nieberding co-celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, North Star, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 2-6 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio, as well as from 9:30-10:30 on Monday at the church.
