Robert Cohee, 56, passed into the arms of a loving God at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Per his request, his body has been cremated, and he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Shelly at a private family service in Mason City, Iowa.Robert was born July 30, 1955, in Greenville, Ohio, to Ralph and Ruby (Parks) Cohee. He took an interest in mortuary science at an early age and assisted a local funeral home with various duties for several years. Robert graduated from Greenville High School and worked as a drug counselor in the Dayton, Ohio, area for 15 years. He lived in Nebraska before moving to the Des Moines area, and worked at the Nebraska Medical Center in Admissions.
Robert is survived by his siblings, Shirley Hughes, Jimmie Don (Madonna) Cohee, and Helen (Jerry) Wright; special friends, Tom and Sharon Mueller, as well as numerous students and friends at DMU (Ali, Katie, and especially Rachel – new D.O.’s). He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shelly; and his sister, Mary Louise Grenier.
