Charles “Charlie” Wayne Curtis, age 85, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. He was born October 10, 1928 in Darke Co., Ohio, a son of the late Glen and Eva Elizabeth Curtis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Alanzo Charles, Anthony Wayne and Angel LoAnn Curtis; 4 brothers and sisters, Treva Klipstine, Opal Koon, Herbert Gene Curtis and Shirley Curtis and 1 grandson, Adam Joseph Rindler.
Charlie is a life time member of the Versailles VFW, the Covington AMVETS, and a member of the Greenville American Legion and a member of the Emmaus New Testament Church.
He is survived by his wife, Violet “Duck” Curtis of Versailles, Ohio; 3 children, Glen R. Curtis of Greenville, Ohio, Trenda (Kenneth Brown) Curtis of Woodington, Ohio and LaDasia (Joe) Rindler of Versailles, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Chad W. Curtis, NaRyan “Bo” Curtis, Tyler Rindler, Taylor Rindler, Isaiah Curtis and Eva Elizabeth Curtis and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Arthur (Evelyn) Curtis of Verailles, Ohio, Roger (Pat) Curtis of Greenville, Ohio and Robert Curtis of Ansonia, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Emmaus New Testament Church, 7511 Palestine Union City Road, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
