Vaughn is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita M. (Brackman) Wakefield whom he married February 8, 1969; daughter & son-in-law, Sundra & Jerry Bey III of Versailles, Ohio; grandchildren, Shelby Bey, Brett Bey, Bo Bey and Cael Bey; brothers & sisters-in-law and sisters & brothers-in-law, Lonny “Jim” & Suzanne Wakefield of Brinkhaven, Ohio, Cheryl & Jim Williams of Dallas, Oregon, John Wakefield of Centralia, Washington, Lynn & Bo Wakefield-Rickard of Centralia, Washington and Greg & Cathy Wakefield of Atwater, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Vaughn is also preceded in death by a son, Daniel G. Wakefield; daughter, Melissa M. “Missy” Wakefield; and a sister, Karen LeDuc.
Vaughn owned and operated a poultry business. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles; Versailles Vet’s Club and Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
