Juanita M. Mikesell age 80, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:45 P.M. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Juanita was born July 19, 1933 in Arcanum, Ohio to the late John & Tressie (Corwin) Prether.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Bob Mikesell whom she married December 28, 1952; children, Marjalie & Robert Schaaf of Greenville, Paul & Cathy Mikesell of New Madison, Bruce & Terri Miksell of New Madison and Kent & Dawn Mikesell of New Paris; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Bob & Lucy Prether of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Edie Prether of Greenville and Linda Lauderdale & Ken Myers of Portland, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Juanita is also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Prether.
Juanita was a homemaker, she formerly worked at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Juanita was a dedicated volunteer. She was a member of Oakland Church of the Brethren where she formerly played the organ.
A celebration of Juanita’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel 750 Chestnut Street Greenville with Pastor John Sgro and Pastor Todd Reish officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund or Oakland Church of the Brethren.
