James G. Hutchens, 81, of Ansonia, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.
He was born July 31, 1933 in Versailles, son of the late James and Ellen (Wills) Hutchens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Wanda Ryan and Shirley Lowe.
A veteran of the US Navy having served in The Korean Conflict. He was retired from General Motors. He was a member of the West Milton VFW and the Greenville American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Cheadle) Hutchens; children, James (Cheryl) Hutchens, Jr. and Leigh Hutchens both of Florida, Tom Hutchens of Arcanum; step children, Misty Boldman of Greenville, Ron (Johnanna) Beam of Ansonia, and Mendy (Brian) Fries of Ft. Recovery; 3 grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Stegeman of Tipp City.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 10, at the Greenville Baptist Temple.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice 1350 North Broadway Street Greenville, OH 45331.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
