Bill was born July 19, 1929, in Versailles to the late William & Alma (Pequignot) Treon. In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrna (Starr) Treon; brothers, Raymond “Bud” and Robert Treon; sisters, Kathleen Martin, Nellie Bothast, Ada Shoupp and an infant sister, Mary Treon; sisters-in-law, Martha Treon and Dottie Treon; and a brother-in-law, Bob Shoupp.
Bill is survived by his children, Gail Davidson of Brookville, Sheri & Tim Hunter of Sarasota, Florida, Craig Treon & fiancée, Linda Miller of Monroe and Tom & Crissy Treon of Versailles; grandchildren, Travis & Melissa Applegate, Lori (Davidson) & Wes Grover, Jandi & Jeff Brown, Jeff & Tina Davidson, Kylie Treon and Tyler Treon; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an auto mechanic for over 50 years, retiring in 2003 from Paul Sherry Chevrolet in Piqua. Bill was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. He enjoyed bowling, spending time with his family and friends, and in earlier years he enjoyed dancing at the Crystal Ball.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 22, 2018, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles with full military honors conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
