Gene was a lifelong farmer and avid wood worker. He served our country in The United States Navy during WWII, and was Washington Twp. Trustee for 16 years. Gene was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as St. Marys Catholic Church. He worked for many years at the Darke County Fair and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include sons; Steven (Judy) Hart of Greenville, OH, Craig (Brenda) Hart of Wapakoneta, OH; brothers Byron (Barb) Hart of Greenville, OH; grandchildren, Tim Hart of Greenville, OH, Lori (Steve) Wenning of Ansonia, OH, Becky (Don) Wellman of Warren, MI, Kerry (Joe) Aschettino of Lima OH, Brad Hart of Wapakoneta, OH, and Jennnifer (Travis) Brinkman of Wapakoneta, OH; 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Morris, and Wayne Hart.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Reichard Funeral Home, 400 W. Deerfield Road. Union City, IN 47390.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Union City, IN
