Howard R. O’Dell, 93, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio, Friday, April 24, 2009. Howard was born May 22, 1915 to the late J. Warren and Cora Mae(Snyder) O’Dell.
Howard worked as a shipping clerk for St. Regis Plastic Company and retired from Atlas Plastics. He also farmed his whole life and enjoyed raising the biggest garden around. Howard was an avid fisherman and hunter and most of all loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Palestine Church of Christ in Palestine, Ohio.
Howard is survived by two sons, George and wife Kathy O’Dell of Greenville and Larry and wife Sharon O’Dell of Hollansburg; two daughters, Nancy and husband Bob Dill of Hollansburg and Mary Ann and husband Kent Webb of Richmond, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and special friends Maxine & Carl Hays
In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Ruth O’dell who passed away on March 23, 2008 and a daughter Ann Marie.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Palestine Church of Christ with the Rev. Mike Simmons being asked to officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the service also at the church. Burial will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery. Family request memorial contributions be made to the Palestine Church of Christ.
