Dotty was a homemaker. She was a member of Stelvideo Christian Church in Stelvideo where she was a Deaconess and Stelvideo Grange, where she was Past Junior Deputy of Darke County.
In addition to her parents, Dotty is also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn H. Gunckle in 1999; son, Joe A. Gunckle in 1990; son-in-law, Thomas L. Mears in 2004; and a sister, Anita Kniesley.
Dotty is survived by her daughters, Janna Mears of Arcanum; Lynne (Harvey) Gunckle Hinshaw of Arcanum; grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Clopp, Susan Gunckle, Jacqueline Mears, Janelle Mears, David (Ashley) Gilpin and Adam Hinshaw; step granddaughter, Elizabeth (Chuck) Henninger; great grandchildren, Joey Clopp, Calen Clopp, Moxon Gilpin and Haddie Gilpin; 6 step great grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Gene & Betty Schultz of Greenville; brother-in-law, Robert J. Gunckle of Greenville; sister-in-law, Kathleen Gunckle of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Stelvideo Christian Church 6808 Church Street Stevideo, Ohio, with Pastor Vernon Rodeffer officiating. Burial will follow in Stelvideo Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Stelvideo Christian Church or Stelvideo Grange. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
