Viola Stamps, 92, of Greenville, passed away on April 3, 2012 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She was born on November 2, 1919 in Grayridge, Missouri, to the late Frank and Effie (Elliot) Moores.
Viola worked as an inspector at Belden during her life. Her greatest passion was her family.
In addition to her parents, Viola is preceded in death by her son, Phillip Stamps and a granddaughter, Melissa Beth Scantland; brothers Roy Moore and Ralph Moores; sisters, Agnes Adkins and Dorothy Gilbert.
Viola is survived by daughters, Deb (Steve) Scantland of New Madison and Donna Wiggs of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Layth (Tami) Scantland, Leah Scantland and Phil (Michelle) Stamps; great grand children, Shawnda Stamps, Melissa Siler, Jacob Scantland, Molly Scantland, Joshua Scantland, Sierra Stamps, Jackie Allison, Tina Allison and Lucas Lowery; Great grandson, Cameron Farley; a brother James (Joan) Moore of New Paris and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may view from 5 - 7 PM on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Braund Funeral Home in New Madison. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery,
