Phyllis Smith, age 89, of 122 Bellvernon Ave. Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:55 p.m. April 11th, 2013.Born in Ansonia, Ohio August 3, 1923, Phyllis was preceeded in death by husband Major Eugene Smith; parents John and Katherine Hollar Beisner; sister Pauline Cannon; and brothers Chester, Lowell, and Robert Beisner.
Survived by son Major Smith and wife Denise; grandson Marc Smith; granddaughter Michelle Smith; brothers Paul of New Paris, Ohio, Max of Texas, Bill of Florida, and Jim of Troy, Ohio. Also survived by three great grandsons: Benjamin, Tucker, and Major Smith.
Phyllis graduated from Ansonia High School in 1941. She graduated from Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio as a Registered Nurse in 1944. She was a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corp during WW II. She was a Certified Industrial Nurse.
Phyllis donated her body to Wright State Medical School. There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity in her name. Condolences may be made to Major Smith, box 241, Electric City, Washington 99123.
