Shirley Ann Cordonnier age 71, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 11:04 A.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville. Shirley was born November 24, 1942 in Miami County, Ohio to the late Joseph M. & Luella J. (Bulcher) Berger.
Shirley is survived by her husband, LeRoy C. Cordonnier whom she married May 30, 1962; children, Mark & Lisa Cordonnier of Versailles, Steve & Judy Cordonnier of Versailles, Deborah & Todd Barga of Versailles and Kevin & Tina Cordonnier of Versailles; grandchildren, Scott & Mandy Christy, Megan & Zac Amand, Kelsey Cordonnier, Nate Cordonnier, Stephanie Cordonnier, Alex Cordonnier, Sarah Cordonnier, Adam Cordonnier, Austin Barga, Josie Barga, Seth Barga, Ashlyn Cordonnier, Taylor Cordonnier, Lily Cordonnier and Zach Cordonnier; great-grandchildren, Caleb & Abigail Christy; sisters & brother-in-law, Joan & Carl Langenkamp of Yorkshire and Marilyn Petitjean of Yuma, Arizona; sister-in-law, Debbie Berger of Beavercreek; brothers-in-law, Dennis Cordonnier of Ft. Loramie, Eugene & Vicky Cordonnier of Russia and Donald & Jean Cordonnier of Piqua; sisters-in-law, JoAnn & John Covelli of Sidney, Kathleen & George Subler of Versailles and Marleen & Tom Hemmelgarn of Russia; numerous nieces & nephews; and many great friends in Versailles and Yuma, Arizona where they wintered.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Berger; and a brother-in-law, Denis Petitjean.
Shirley retired from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Greenville where she was a Deputy Registrar. She formerly worked at the Versailles Policy. Shirley was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles where she formerly served on the Parish Council and was a Lay Distributor. Shirley formerly served as a volunteer of the Versailles Life Squad, former Cub Scout Den Mother, former Girl Scout Brownie Leader, and formerly coached girls youth softball. Shirley loved crocheting and traveling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant and Rev. Deacon Andrew Cordonnier. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
