Phyllis M. Cole age 85, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:34 P.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Phyllis was born August 19, 1928 in Arcanum, Ohio to the late Otis L. & Grace M. (Miller) DeWeese.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Robert J. Cole whom she married September 12, 1948; children, Susan Hohler of Greenville, Alan & Pamela Cole of Greenville, Michael & Beth Cole of Vero Beach, Florida and Jeffrey & Carol Cole of Monroe, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Phyllis formerly worked at Lehman Paint Store for 5 years and Lowell Brothers Paint Store for 6 years. Phyllis retired on January 1, 1994 from Greenville National Bank with 24 years of service where she was managing the Real Estate Department. Phyllis was a former member of Fort Greenville Order of Eastern Star and a former advisor to the Rainbow Girls. Phyllis enjoyed quilting, sewing, and boating. Phyllis loved her family, gardening, roses and was a great cook.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Rest Haven Nursing Home Activities Fund.
