Robert is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Angela K. Gibbons of Greenville; grandchildren, Stephanie & Hayes Hubbs and Richard & Vanessa Gibbons; great-grandchildren, Brittany Hubbs, Kayla Hubbs, Ryan Hubbs, Makenzie Gibbons and Elli Gibbons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. (Mikesell) Gibbons; brother, Ralph Gibbons; and sisters, Gladys Poffenbarger and Thelma Morris.
Ralph served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from General Motors in Dayton and worked in security part-time at the Brethren Retirement Community. Robert was a member of the Greenville V.F.W.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens in Darke County with Military graveside services conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
