Norbert B. Riethman age 88, of Covington passed away at 8:27 AM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at his residence.
Norbert was born February 21, 1930, in Shelby County to the late August H. & Elizabeth (Tuente) Riethman. In addition to his parents, Norbert was also preceded in death by his wife, Adeline (Goubeaux) Riethman on May 7, 2001, whom he married August 23, 1950; brother, Aloys Riethman; and sisters, Bernadette Schultz and Mary Ann Wenning.
Norbert is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Jean & David Powell of Lima, Jane & Rocky Campbell of Versailles and Jill & Kent Paulus of Versailles; grandchildren, Christopher (Gina) Powell, Jennifer (A.J.) Shappell, Megan Campbell, Mitchell Campbell, Nick Campbell, Michael (Julia) Paulus and Kevin (Nicole) Paulus; 7 great-grandchildren; special friend, Loretta Bergman of Minster; brothers & sister-in-law, Linus & Mary Ann Riethman of St. Marys and Homer Riethman of Anna; sister, Helen Wesbecker of Sidney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norbert farmed and began his career at GM in Dayton where he worked for 10 years. He retired in 1992 from PMI-Hobart Corporation in Troy with 30 years of service but his true passion was farming. Norbert was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 4, 2019, at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia with Rev. Fr. Martin Fox celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery in Russia. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
