David D. “Half Moon” Spillers age 64, of Versailles passed away at 11:40 AM on Monday, May 13, 2019, at his residence.
David was born August 17, 1954, in Greenville to the late Waldon “Moon” & Ida Glee (Cain) Spillers. In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Sherman & Clissie (Harman) Spillers and Mahlon & Goldie (Noffsinger) Cain.
David is survived by his sisters & brother-in-law, Connie Spillers Fogt of Greenville and Eileen Spillers Cox and husband, Chris of Greenville; nieces & nephew, Paula Fogt Knecht, Angela Fogt Nevels and husband, David, Andrea Cox, Chance Cox and wife, Allison; and great & great-great nieces and nephew.
David formerly worked at Argosy in Versailles, Ft. Wayne Air Services and retired from Spillers Field-Darke County Airport where he was manager and fixed base operator.
The family would like to express their gratitude to their family, friends and State of the Heart Care, especially Mary Rodeheffer for her compassionate care given to David.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 7:45 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:45 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family request casual attire for the evening. In lieu of flowers, family request memorial contributions may be given to Dayton Children’s Hospital or State of the Heart Care.
