He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and for 25 years held the position as Quality Manager with the Elevator Equipment Corporation in Richmond, Indiana. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, loved spending time working in his yard and enjoyed family vacations to the beach.
Jim is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Campbell) Snyder of Greenville. Also sons Robert T. Chilton of Celina, Ohio and Kyle J. Snyder of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren Kayleigh Pitman and Samantha Chilton; great grandchild Nylah Nelson; sister Judy (Rod) Ippisch of Dayton; brother Greg (Barb) Snyder of Dayton as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday May 7, 2019 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Deacon Tom Graber officiating. Burial will follow in the Dayton National Cemetery 4400 West Third Street Dayton, Ohio at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of the services in the funeral home. The Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct Full Military Honors on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers it is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given the American Heart Association.
