Jean (McEldowney) Eastridge, 76, of Coldwater, Ohio, formerly of New Weston, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on May 24, 1944, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Louise (Zahn) McEldowney.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Danny E. Eastridge; and siblings, Carol Coby, Mark McEldowney, Mary Lou Wagner and her husband, Warner, and Vernon McEldowney.
Jean loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Jean worked for the Celina Group as an Accountant Assistant and as a substitute rural mail carrier. While her children where in school, she was active within the school and with the parent association.
Jean enjoyed crafting and sewing. She would sew quilts and do alterations for wedding and pageant dresses. When she was not at her sewing machine, Jean was in the kitchen. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Each Christmas, Jean made cookie plates for all her family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sharpsburg and taught religion education at the church for many years. During her years at Briarwood, Jean enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and watching soap operas.
Jean is survived by her children, Angie Jones and her husband, Jon, of Ansonia, Ohio, Michael Eastridge of Greenville, and Becky Hart and her husband, Mark, of Greenville; her grandchildren, Caleb, Connor, Keigan, and Kadan Jones; her siblings, Ed McEldowney and his wife, Connie of Rossburg, Ohio, Pat Bothast and her husband, Rodney, of Peoria, Illinois, Les McEldowney of Farmland, Indiana, and Charlie McEldowney and his wife, Rosalie, of Rossburg; her sisters-in-law, Sue McEldowney of Dayton, Ohio, Rita McEldowney of Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Connie Stachler and her husband, Luke, of Greenville; and her brother-in-law, Terry Coby of Portland, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sharpsburg. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Jean’s family on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
