Corynna R. Strawser, age 16, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 9:47 AM at her residence with family by her side. She was born on April 28, 1997 to Sean & Kristi (Cook) Strawser of Greenville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her grandparents, Mike & Penny Strawser of Greenville, Teresa Stetler-Clear of Springfield, Phil & Arin Cook of Lewisburg and Mike Mowery of Greenville; great grandparents, Mae Clear of Greenville, Berlen Strawser of Greenville and Edith Cook of Greenville; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and generous, loving and caring community.
She is preceded in death by her brother and sister, Ian & Kaitlyn Strawser.
Corynna was in the class of 2015 at Greenville High School. She was a member of the Greenville Missionary Church and was a volunteer at the Brethren Retirement Community. Corynna was a make-up artist and was very passionate about dancing. She was involved with the 5 6 7 8 dance studio and competitive dancing at the Barbara Rethlake Dance Studio in Greenville. Corynna was the inspiration to start the Acts of Kindness Club at the Greenville High School and throughout the past year she was dedicated to the awareness of Mitochondrial Disease.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2-6 PM and on Monday from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the Corynna Strawser Research Fund or A Special Wish Foundation.
