Rodney P. Marker (September 15, 2011)
Rodney P. Marker, 62, of rural Arcanum, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Wayne Hospital. Mr. Marker was born in Greenville on September 17, 1948, the son of the late Paul and Jane (Wiles) Marker. He was a 20 year veteran of the U. S. Air Force retiring in 1989. Rodney was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. He was a 1967 Graduate of Greenville High School and a former volunteer Jr. High Basketball Coach. Rodney was a strong supporter of the Greenwave sports programs and an avid Lady Wave Softball fan. He is survived by his wife Paula (Lewis) Marker, whom he married January 15, 1972; Son Shaun Marker and his wife Jennifer of Greenville; Daughter Cyndi Hoop and husband Doug of Greenville; Grandchildren Haley, Clairece, Sophie, Grant, Johnathon, and Liam Marker, Cole and Clay Hoop; Sisters Cynthia Ellis and husband Bill of Greenville and Dianna Kightlinger and husband Rodney of Tucson, AZ; and his dog Gabby. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville with Rev. Dr. John M. Person officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery, where the Greenville Veterans will conduct military graveside services. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday 2 - 4 PM at the Kreitzer Funeral Home. Family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Resurrection Community Center, 433 E.
