Betty Jean Riffell, age 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at her residence. Betty was born June 20, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Lewis C. & Alpha M. (Michael) Potter.
Betty is survived by her husband, Franklin Poling Riffell whom she married June 6, 1942; children, Sharon S. Eastman of Santa Clarita, California, David E. Riffell of Anderson, Missouri, Beth E. Cole of Vero Beach, Florida, Stephen A. Riffell of Piqua and Dwight E. Riffell of Vandalia; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Bobbie Potter of Dayton.
In addition to her parents, Betty is also preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Riffell; grandsons, Darren Riffell and Brandon Riffell; brothers, Kenneth and Jay Potter; and a sister, Roberta Hoyer.
Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Greenville Missionary Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Greenville Missionary Church, 1110 North Broadway Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Englewood. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
