Daniel Aloysius Kelly passed on May 24, 2015 at the age of 90 years plus after a lingering illness.
Dan was born in Shamokin, PA. He lived and raised his family in Cleveland, Ohio, along with his wife Veda Kelly who preceded him in death in 2012.
He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Colleen and Mike Whittington, Maureen and Tony Vannicola and Kathleen and David Lloyd. In addition Dan is survived by his grandchildren Erin, Kathryn, Brandon and Ashley. He had 5 great-grandchildren.
Dan was a proud WWII Naval Veteran. He served in the Pacific, Atlantic and Asia Theaters as a Seaman First class. Dan moved from Cleveland to Greenville in 1980 and eventually retired from Corning. Dan and Veda were tireless volunteers with Wayne Hospital Auxiliary. Dan worked as a courier for Wayne Hospital until the age of 88 years old. His legacy to his family will always be remembered for hard work and helping others. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched as a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenville with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral home in Greenville.
