Rodney L. Minnich, 60, of Greenville, passed away Friday afternoon, August 28, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Center in Greenville.
He was born August 19, 1955 in Greenville, son of the late Bernard Minnich and Mary (Longfellow) Lockwood. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Thompson.
Rodney was a veteran of the US Army. He was a truck driver for Dick Lavy Trucking for several years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Rolling 50’s Classic Car Club all of Greenville.
He is survived by his wife, Audry (Sanders) Minnich; a daughter, Heather Laird; a step daughter, Mindy Harmon; grandchildren, Corey Harmon, Austin Fergueson, Makena Laird, Allison Grow, and Micha Smith-Harmon; a brother, Emerson (Leora) Minnich; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Sue, Tom, Chuck and Donna, Tim and Lorie, Tim and Mary Ann, and Tim and Birt.
Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 3, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be given to either the Cancer Association of Darke County or the family.
