John Anthony Floyd, 34, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
John was born on October 2, 1985 in Greenville to Penny (Liette) Stock, of Greenville, and the late John Charles Ralph Floyd.
In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard Floyd, Sr., George Furlong, Lawrence and Alice Liette; his uncles, Willard Floyd, Jr., and Scott Tye; and his cousins, Eddy Floyd, and Macie Riegle.
It is always difficult to try to describe a person’s life in just a few words, however, John made it easy. John was known by many names; Big John, Uncle Bubby, and Chunk. But he was also known for his many amazing character traits. John was a full-time family best friend. He was the most selfless, caring and giving person you could ever meet. He always put everyone else first in his life. John was a member of the Emmaus Community. He loved to laugh and loved making others laugh. He was an excellent cook, best friend and confidant, and great travel partner. John loved to play cards, bowl, and was a gamer-of-all-trades. He enjoyed sports and rooting for his favorite teams, the Cincinnati Bengals and USC.
John was also a loyal and devoted son, brother, and uncle. He adored his nieces and nephews, and he meant the world to them. He loved his family, his furry best friends, and Jesus. He played a huge part in the lives of all around him and the space he leaves behind will never be filled.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his stepfather William Stock of Greenville; his sisters, Ashley Davis and her husband, Randall, of New Vienna, Ohio, Malynda Vrazalich and her husband, Michael, of Greenville, Cassandra Stock of Troy, Ohio; and Katelyn Bowman and her husband, Joseph, of Bradford, Ohio; his grandmothers, MaryAnne Furlong of Arcanum, and Kathleen Floyd of Greenville. John also leaves behind six nieces and nephews, Johnathan Floyd, Lyla Davis, Ava Davis, Kali Davis, Michael Andrew Vrazalich, and Madalyn Vrazalich; his God-Mother and aunt, Irene Wirrig and her husband, Tony, of Greenville; special aunt and uncle, Barbi Tye of Troy, and Butch Liette of Sidney, Ohio; his "brother from another mother", Brad Brodrick of Union City, Ohio; his aunts and uncles, Kathy Floyd of New Paris, Bob Floyd and his wife, Becky, of Greenville, Joyce Clopp and her husband, Bill, of Greenville, Ed Floyd and his wife, Chris, of Greenville, Joseph Floyd of Wapakoneta, Jean Anderson and her husband, Jerry, of Greenville, Georgianna Klosterman and her husband, Rich, of Bradford, Tammy Stock of Lynn, Indiana, Kathy Beam and her husband, Rick, of Greenville, and David Furlong and his wife, Pam, of New Paris; and his countless cousins.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Rick Gutheil officiating.

Carolyn J. Brinley, 82, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away early Monday, December 30, 2019, at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville, Ohio.
She was born on March 16, 1937, in Greenville to the late Leonard and Jenny (Petry) Hathaway.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Whitley; her companion, Jay Moore; and her great grandson, Drew Steinberger.
Carolyn was a 1955 graduate of Westmont High School in Hollansburg. She was a hard-working lady, who did all she could for her family. She spent several years working for Gershuh’s in Greenville, Belden Wire in Richmond, Indiana, and retired from Wayne Hospital. She loved tending to her garden and canning her produce that she raised. She was very talented and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and painting. Most importantly, Carolyn loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.

Michael “Mike” Lee Simon (December 25, 2019)
Michael “Mike” Lee Simon, age 64 of Troy, Ohio passed away at 2:14 AM on Christmas Day, December 25, 2019 at Kindred Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. Born in Lawrence, Illinois on February 20, 1955 he was one of 3 children to the late Paul W. Simon & Norma J. (Eagleson) Blesch. Mike was a graduate of Greenville High School, class of 1974. He then went on to graduate from Edison State Community College in 1986 where he earned his associates degree in Human Services. He was a drug & alcohol counselor for various places, including Upper Valley Medical Center (Dittmer Hospital) in Troy, Darke County Recovery Council, Shelby County Counseling Center and was a sponsor in AA. Mike was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Piqua/Troy ward. He enjoyed playing and watching softball games, fishing, working outside, and helping others. His favorite holiday was Christmas. He would dress like Santa and pass out gifts to all the children at the hospitals, and in the neighborhood. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-mother Carolyn Simon: step-father Howard Blesch: close friend, and “mentor” Carl Asher.
Survived by his wife, Bridget (Swick) Simon, whom he married on October 10, 2013: children Bradley M. Simon; Shane L. Simon (Sarah); Cory W. Simon (Shay); Justine Simon; Ryan W. Mickey N. Poling, 70, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019, at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville, Ohio.
He was born on May 26, 1949, in Wayne County, Indiana, to the late Sherwood and Ruth (Vietor) Poling.
Mickey graduated in 1968 from Westmont High School in Hollansburg. He spent over 43 years working for Whirlpool in Greenville until he retired in June 2014. Mickey loved to travel the United States on his Honda Gold Wing. From California to Florida, you never knew where his next trip would take him. When he was not riding his bike, you could find him at the Union City Country Club playing golf with his friends. Mickey also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and he even went to several races around the country on his Gold Wing. Mickey was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #329 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2177, both in Greenville. He also enjoyed going to the American Legion, Post 140, also in Greenville.
Mickey is survived by his sons, Scott Poling and his wife, Leah, Jason Poling and his wife, Dawn, and Kory Poling, all of Hollansburg; his grandchildren, Zachary and Elizabeth Poling and Hunter and Aubrey Poling; and his sisters, Joan Moore and her husband, Harold “Buck”, of Hollansburg, and Connie Sherk and her husband, Sam, of Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

Joyce was a 1946 graduate of Miamisburg High School. She spent a majority of her life as a homemaker and loved tending to her family. In her free time, Joyce embraced her artist skills as a painter. She also liked to read, tend to her garden, clean, and mow her grass. Joyce also was a member of the Eaton Baptist Temple.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Mike Ruebush of Eaton and Russ Ruebush and his wife, Kathy, of Camden; her grandsons, Jason Ruebush and his wife, Taffie, Jeff Ruebush, both of Eaton, Ryan Ruebush of Camden, Joshua Ruebush and his wife, Julie, and C. Wilma Mae (Staudt) Graves, age 89, of Versailles, Ohio and formerly of Covington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 5:30 PM at the Versailles Health Care Center. She was born on April 26, 1930 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Otis & Ida (Nixon) Staudt.
She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Janet Etter of Covington, Ohio; daughter in law Marianne Etter of Covington, Ohio; grandchildren, Ross Etter, Grace Meyer, Paul Etter, Amanda Turner, and Sarah Bullis; great grandchildren, Chase and Jake Meyer, Lilly, Sandy and Joann; In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James F. “Jim” Graves on February 2, 2013 whom she married on November 23, 1979; daughter Sandy Etter; son John Etter; sister, Betty Abshire.

Rosie Pearson (Rosanna), age 63, passed away on December 19, 2019 at 3:30 pm at Versailles Health Care Center. She was born on August 6, 1956 to the late Albert & Lidwina Bergman of St. Henry, OH. On August 15, 1975 she married Michael Pearson, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2019. She is survived by her son Brian & friend Crystal and her sons Dylan and Noah of Versailles; son Adam & wife Kim and their family Vera, Vince and Annie of Versailles; daughter Mindy McCutchins & husband Sanchez and their family Bailey, Blaire and Brinley Rose of Sidney.

Rosie graduated from St. Henry High School in 1974. She was a Versailles Tiger fan, very involved in all activities and sports that her children participated in. Outside the home she worked in customer service and office administration earning certifications in the insurance and logistics field. She loved working outside attending to her flowers and garden. She and her husband were honored to have received "Garden of the Month" given by the Versailles Garden Club. She was able to experience the love of her husband, the respect of her devoted and caring children and the ultimate gift of being "Grammy" to her grandchildren. She was a faithful daughter and daughter-in-law to their parents in their time of need. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and care during her illness.

Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Brumbaugh, 78, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
Ronnie was born on September 20, 1941, in Miami County, Ohio, to the late David L. and Mary (Wackler) Brumbaugh.
Ronnie enjoyed being a farmer and everything that came with it. He raised pigs, and owned and raced Standardbred horses with his brother. He always had a vegetable garden and loved tending to it. Most of all, Ronnie loved his family; his wife, his daughters and his grandchildren. He enjoyed being involved with his family and watching his grandsons play sports. He is already truly and deeply missed.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda "Lynn" (Wogomon) Brumbaugh, whom he married on February 6, 1968; his daughters, Alychia Ann Wright and her husband, Matthew, of Arcanum, and Anicca Alee Schmidt and her husband, Thomas, of Orient, Ohio; his grandchildren, Hannah Clements and her husband, Craig, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kendall Wright, and Karson Wright, both of Arcanum; his sister, Judy Warner and her husband, Dean, of Fayetteville, Georgia; and his brothers, David Brumbaugh and his wife, Chris, of Arcanum, Marvin Brumbaugh and his fiancé, Kay, of Englewood, Ohio, and Mark Brumbaugh and his wife, Terri, of Arcanum.
A Memorial Service for Ronnie will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Dan Kuhbander officiating. Burial will follow in Abbotsville Cemetery.

Robert was born September 28, 1941, in Darke County to the late Marion J. & Marjorie K. (Miller) Matthieu. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Goubeaux.
Robert is survived by his children, David L. & Tracy Matthieu of Bradford, Kelly G. Matthieu of Minster, Bobbi J. & William Allen of Piqua and Michael A. & Julia Matthieu of Versailles; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Robert retired from Francis Manufacturing in Russia with over 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Versailles and Celina. Robert was an avid fisherman.

Shellhaas of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Jason K. & Danielle Shellhaas and Joshua M. & Ashly Shellhaas; step grandchildren, Eric & Christy Garland, Dustin Garland and Zachary & Shelby Garland; great-grandchildren, Mahlon G. Ruth is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dale A. Page whom she married August 30, 1958; children, Danny & Ginny Page of Union City, Indiana, Tess Plessinger of Island Lake, Illinois and Wendy McGuire of Dayton; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Dick was a 1959 Graduate of Greenville High School. Dick served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1963. He retired from Corning Glass where he worked in the mold shop for 30 years. Dick was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post#140 and actively served on the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. He was a State Registered Track and Field Official for over 20 years. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor John Whirledge officiating. Burial will follow in Newcomer Cemetery in Franklin Township. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Dick was born January 1, 1941, in Darke County to the late Lowell & Glenna (Miller) Martin. In addition to his parents, Dick was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean (Gasper) Martin on October 12, 2015, whom he married December 31, 1960; and a brother, Dennis Martin.
Dick is survived by his children, Tory & Denise Martin of Greenville, Jeff Martin of Greenville and Tracey & Lisa Martin of Greenville; grandchildren, Chelsea & John Whirledge, Tyler & Vanessa Martin, Chrissy Martin, Kelly Martin and Kimmy Martin; a great-grandchild, Jayden Martin and one expected; sister, Marilyn Warrick of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Gloria Martin of Greenville, Linda Sink of Greenville and Debbie Browder of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary L. Bolin, age 68 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:52 PM Monday December 9, 2019 in the Miami Valley Hospital Dayton, Ohio. Gary was born December 7, 1951 in Union City, Indiana and the son of June (Timmons) Bevans of Greenville and the late James Bolin.
He retired in 2014 from the Beauty Systems Group of Greenville, enjoyed watching college and NFL football, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Gary was known by all as the ultimate jokester and always left you with a big smile on your face.

Fred Edward Matix (December 15, 2019)
Fred Edward Matix, age 77 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on the afternoon of Sunday December 15, 2019 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center Greenville, Ohio. Fred was born August 1, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio and the son of the late Charles Matix and Erma (Dittman) Matix-McCreary.
He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in education. He went on to teach and coach first at North Judson High School in North Central Indiana followed by Jimtown High School also in Indiana before moving to Greenville in 1976. Fred served as a coach, teacher, athletic director, school board member, and mentor in the Greenville City School system from 1976-2019. Fred also was an official’s assigner for the OHSAA.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce (McCashland) Matix of Greenville: two children, Brian (Julie) Matix of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Jana (Dennis) Kiser of Greenville; and was a very proud grandfather of Christian Matix, Emma Matix, Landen Kiser and Evan Kiser. Also survived by his sister Ruth Ann Cowling of Indiana, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and his very loyal dog Ellie whom he loved very much.

Ted J. Trittschuh, 78, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on December 11, 2019, at Kindred Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born on August 19, 1941, in Darke County, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Carol (Schlecty) Trittschuh.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Todd Walls; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Trittschuh.
Ted was a 1960 graduate of Ansonia High School. He worked as a supervisor of logistics for BASF in Greenville for over 26 years until he retired in 2000. When Ted was not working, he enjoyed spending time at Long Lake in Indiana, where he and his family had a cottage for over 30 years. He had many friends in the area and cherished the time he spent there with his family. Ted also enjoyed garden tractors and tinkering with them. He and a group of tractor friends would travel to garden tractor shows all over and loved to share his passion with others.
Ted was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Willowdell, Ohio until it closed in the spring of 2019. He then joined the Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles, Ohio where he currently attended. He was also an active member of the Ansonia Masonic Lodge until it closed and continued his membership with the Gettysburg lodge. Ted was proud of his family and took great delight in the joys that he shared with them.
Ted is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan (Whittington) Trittschuh; his children, Kim Klipstine and her husband, Bill, of Versailles, Diana Walls of Ansonia, and Matt Trittschuh and his wife, Jennifer, of Arcanum, Ohio; his grandchildren, Kate Brewer and her husband, Clint, of Dublin, Ohio, Ben Klipstine and his wife, Nicole, of Westerville, Ohio, Pete Scharf of Columbus, Joe Scharf of Cincinnati, Chris Scharf of Kettering, Ohio, Beth Trittschuh of West Carrollton, Ohio, and Mary and John Trittschuh, both of Arcanum; his brother, Tom Trittschuh and his wife, Marilyn, of Arcanum; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born on January 5, 1927, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Eli M. and Flora Mae (Studebaker) Smith.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Edgar Mills, whom she married on December 24, 1942; her infant daughter, Betty Jo Mills; and her sisters, Sylvia DeBruler, and Alice Kaiser.
Jeanette was a talented seamstress and loved to sew. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with friends and family. She loved to cook and bake and will forever be remembered for her pickled eggs and famous pecan pie. Jeanette had few needs in life. She only needed her family to be happy. She loved to spend time with her grandsons and great granddaughters. Nothing brought a smile to her face more than being with them. She was the foundation on which her family was built, and her absence will be felt everyday.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Sandy Hollinger and her husband, Jerry, of Hollansburg, Ohio; her grandsons, Johnathan Hollinger and his wife, Amber, of Greenville, and Cody Hollinger of Hollansburg; and her great granddaughters, Harley and Olivia Hollinger.

He was November 12, 1941 in Laura, Ohio the son of the late Paul & Marcella (Buckingham) Fourman. He served his country in the United State Army in the first Infantry in the Vietnam War. He retired from Hobart Brothers in Troy where he had worked as a welder.
He was a member of the Arcanum American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisher, he loved woodworking, camping, the Cincinnati Bengals, & The Ohio State Buckeyes; he loved his family and loved watching his grandchildren’s sports.

Ruthanna N. Riegle, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:30 AM Monday December 9, 2019 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home. Ruthanna was born May 14, 1927 in Darke County Ohio and the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Routzong) Morris.
She was retired having been employed for 30 years at General Athletic Company and 15 years at Fram Corporation, both of Greenville.
Ruthanna was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Greenville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin “Junior” Riegle.
Ruthanna is survived by special friends Frank and Betty (Byrd) Marchal of Bradford and Alex Marchal of Medina.

Ruthanna was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Greenville.

Ruthanna is survived by special friends Frank and Betty (Byrd) Marchal of Bradford and Alex Marchal of Medina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday December 12, 2019 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Doug Klinsing officiating. Glen W. Schoenleben (December 8, 2019)
Glen W. Schoenleben long time resident of Greenville, Ohio died peacefully on December 8, 2019 at the Brethren Community Retirement Home in Greenville, Ohio at the age of 90. He is survived by his brother, Bud Schoenleben of Celina, and two Grandsons Adam Eichenauer of Hawaii and Alan Eichenauer of the Virgin Islands.
Glen was born April 30, 1929, the son of William and Marie (Young) Schoenleben who both proceeded him in death. He married Phyllis (the love of his life) on December 24, 1947 whom passed away in 2016 and they were married nearly 69 years .
Glen owned and operated Idding Auto Glass in Greenville for several years. He enjoyed automobiles, old engines, restoring old Wheel Horse Tractors, small engine repair, and traveling in his RV. He and Phyllis had one child Sharon (Eichenauer) Schoenleben who proceeded him in death in 2014, he also is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Schoenleben and his sister, Ruth Mosier.

Lois Ann Clippinger Rhoades, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Saturday December 7, 2019 at the Brethren Retirement Community of Greenville. Lois was born August 12, 1930 in Johnson City, Tennessee and the daughter of the late John A. and Helen Florence (Wilson) Wallace.
Lois was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, boating and band concerts in the park.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Dr. Richard Vance Clippinger and Franklin G. Rhoades. Also her granddaughter Rachel McGlinch and her son Donald Clippinger.
Lois is survived by her children and their spouses: Suzanne Clippinger (Richard) Osborne of Albertville, AL., Sara Clippinger (Jeff) Yosick of Taylors, SC., and Patricia Clippinger (Steve) McGlinch of Greenville; grandchildren Nichole Harris, Eric Harris, Ashley Yosick Couse, Dylan Yosick, Tyler Yosick, Lindsey McGlinch, Aiden Clippinger and Frances Clippinger; great grandchildren Ally Harris, Ethan Harris, Luna Yosick, Everett Yosick, Amina Couse, Sterling Garrett-Harris and Nicholas Garrett-Harris; brother-in-law William (Carolyn) Clippinger of Evansville, IN, and niece Holly Hatchett of Nashville, TN.

Barry B. Wegman (December 1, 2019)
Barry B. Wegman, age 68 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:12 PM Sunday December 1, 2019 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Columbus, Ohio. Barry was born December 13, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio and the son of the late Luther H. and Dorothy J. (Valentine) Wegman.
He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 2017 for ConAgra Foods in Troy, Ohio. He also had been employed as a Substitute Teacher in several of the schools in the Darke County area. Barry was a graduate of Lake High School and received his BS Degree from Bowling Green State University. He was an avid sports official in the Ohio and Indiana area, primarily officiating on the high school level in football, basketball, softball, baseball, track and volleyball. Also had some officiating experience on the collegiate level and assisted with the Special Olympics.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Marcia DiGuglielmo.
Barry is survived by his special partner Kristine K. Moore of Greenville, bother and sister-in-law Allan & Pam Wegman of Woodville, Ohio, sister and brother-in-law Diane & Bill Jaeck of Venice, Florida and 5 nieces.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday December 11, 2019 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with burial scheduled for 2:00 PM in the Dayton National VA Cemetery 4400 W. James L. Stelle, 84, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
He was born on February 11, 1935, in Connersville, Indiana, to the late Crayton and Mary (Bicknel) Stelle.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters, Nedra Richardson and Janice Stelle.
James was a simple man who loved to travel. He served his county honorably in the United States Military and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Liberty, Indiana.

She was born on December 20, 1943, in Greenville to the late O.F. and Ethel (Siders) Keaser.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gump, whom she married on September 5, 1958; her daughter, Kim Gump; her sisters, Joanne Heffington and Linda Brenner; and her brother, Charlie Keaser.
Barb was an outstanding teacher and role model of how to express and show love. She loved to give and receive hugs and kisses. She was a selfless caregiver and always took care of others before herself. Barb loved to play cards and display her holiday decorations. She enjoyed the beauty of flowers and spending time in the garden. Barb loved her family, friends, and her dog, Angel.
Barb was blessed with the family she made at the Oakley Place, where she enjoyed her many friends and received very compassionate and loving care from the entire Oakley staff.
Barb is survived by her sons, Randy Gump and his wife, Mary Ann, of Versailles, Ohio, and Rick Gump and his wife, Lynne, of Greenville; her 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Marie Keaser of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lurene D. Monnin, of Versailles passed away at 10:41 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Lurene was born in Darke County to the late Pete & Mildred (McEldowney) Simon. In addition to her parents, Lurene was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bud and Richard Simon; and sister, Judy Seger.
Lurene is survived by her husband, Jerry Monnin whom she married May 22, 1954; children, Karen & Reece Nickol of Piqua and Kent & Tonda Monnin of Troy; grandchildren, Matt & Angie Nickol, Seth & Sarah Nickol, Lee & Roshelle Nickol, Jay & Jenny Nickol, Mark & Emily Monnin, Tricia & Derek Carson, Craig Riley, Christopher Riley and Conor Riley; 11 great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Dan & Sheryle Simon of Versailles; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Simon of Versailles; brothers-in-law & sister-in-law, Denis Monnin of Versailles, Carl Barlage of Russia and Tom & Linda Monnin of Russia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lurene was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. She loved traveling and was proud to have traveled in all 50 states. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing poker and spending time with her family. Lurene was a proud blood donor and has donated over 12 gallons of blood. She was the rock of her family and will be forever “29”.

James “Jim” Lee Richard, age 75, of Versailles passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after a short battle with cancer. Jim was born on June 1, 1944 to the late Leroy Richard & the late Dorothy (Yingst) Magnotte. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Chalmers) Richard whom he married on May 29, 1970; daughter Jeffie and her husband Scott Voisard of Russia and their family, Kirstin, Austin, and Emma Erisman, Karissa and Kenzi Voisard; daughter Jodie Bohman of Versailles and her family Lauren Monnin & fiancĂ©e Jacob Schlater and Taylor Bohman; and daughter Julie and her husband Matt Magoto of Versailles and their family Lexi, Cameron, and Kayla Magoto.
Jim is also survived by his sisters, Jane Smith of Troy and Kathy McPherson of Washington, Michigan; In-Laws Lisa Richard of Michigan; Bob Chalmers of Greenville; Dave & Ruby Chalmers of Bradford, Tam & Randy Venrick of Greenville, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jill Elaine (Rhoades) Witters passed away on November 30. She is survived by husband Keith, daughter Leah Witters, sons Lance Witters and Lucas Witters, daughter-in-law Alyssa Farrell Witters, mother Shirley Rhoades, sisters Tracy Muhlenkamp and Melissa Sagan, brother Dusty Rhoades, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Rhoades.

Jack Burton Quinn (November 30, 2019)
Jack Burton Quinn, age 79 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully at 6:10 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Unit. Born in Pleasant Hill, OH on March 31, 1940 he was one of 6 children to the late Albert & Lucy (Swartz) Quinn. Jack enjoyed anything that involved working with his hands. He liked to work on cars, garden, woodwork, and raise horses. Jack enjoyed traveling, and riding his motorcycle. He was a loving husband; he and his wife of 59 years, Beverly, were inseparable. He loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Paul Quinn, Ed Quinn, Mabel Wojciechowski.

Amanda Marie (Williams) Sowers
Amanda Marie (Williams) Sowers came into the world July 2, 1982, much to her mother’s delight. The doctor was sure she was a boy. Amanda grew into a strong willed, independent child. She loved tormenting her brother. She started her love of piano at age 6, taking lessons for 10 years. She discovered another love, speaking Spanish in high school. She got all A’s. Sometimes when her mom woke her up, she was speaking Spanish! She got to go to Mexico after graduating, a trip she loved. Amanda went to Massage Therapy School, becoming a LMT. Amanda loved to crochet. She made many gifts doing this, including making hats for the babies in the NICU at Children’s Hospital. Her death leaves a void that forever can’t be filled.
Amanda is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Neva Marie Rantz Studebaker, and her paternal grandparents, Paul Williams and Betty Koffer.
Those left to celebrate her life, but mourn her death are her children Rebecca Renee’ and Elijah David, and their father Matthew. Her mother and Dad “in love”, Toni and Brad Henninger. Leonard J. Goubeaux (November 27th, 2019)
Leonard J. Goubeaux, 81 of Bronston, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 at Shawnee Manor in Lima, Ohio. Born on November 28th, 1937 in Frenchtown, Ohio, he was one of 7 children of the late Cletus “Jack” and Dorothea (Ayette) Goubeaux. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Juli R. Goubeaux; and brothers, Ed (Ruth) Goubeaux and Norbert “Butch” Goubeaux.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sandee and Ted Detrick of Versailles, Ohio, Greg and Veronica Goubeaux of Versailles, Ohio; his grandchildren, J. Michael Detrick, Harrison Detrick, Jack Detrick, Chase Detrick, Kathy Chavez and Krystal Chavez; siblings, Melva (Gene) Barga, Ivan (Judy) Goubeaux, Wayne (Elaine) Goubeaux, and Diane (Terry) Carter; as well as many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Versailles High School in 1956, Leonard enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country honorably from 1956-1958. He later pursued his education degree at the Bailey Technical School in St. Louis, Missouri and a career in the trucking industry, Upon his retirement, Leonard was able to fulfill a life long dream of living by the lake. Len loved the water, boating, and sharing that fun with family and friends. He was an avid hunter, who enjoyed working in his yard and watching wildlife from his porch swing. He took pleasure in the simple things, worked hard and taught his children the value of doing your best.

Grace Evangeline Hinkle (November 26, 2019)
Grace Evangeline Hinkle, age 88 of Gettysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. Born on March 31, 1931 in Darke County, Ohio she was one of 6 children to the late Chester R. & Miriam G. (Hall) Riffell. Grace was a member of the Pleasant View Missionary Church, where she served the church faithfully, since the age of 8 years old. She had taught Sunday school, was secretary of the church board, janitor, was very active in Bible study, and was President and Vice-President of the Women’s Missionary group. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Hinkle; daughter Joyce Hinkle; brothers Arthur Riffell, Keith Riffell.

Zane Edward Kindley (November 26, 2019)
Zane Edward Kindley, age 56 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 26, 2019 at State of the Heart Hospice in Greenville, surrounded by his loving family. Zane was born on February 6, 1963 to the late Hazel and Earl Kindley. Zane valiantly battled Multiple Myeloma and renal failure for the past two and a half years.
Zane was a 1981 Tri-Village High School graduate. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University in 1985, and his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1988.
Zane was an attorney and had a deep respect and passion for the law. He spent his entire career helping as well as serving others. He was a leader among men and had the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Zane worked in Butler County as the Assistant Director of the Butler County CSEA. He served on numerous boards and held multiple leadership roles on the local as well as state level. Prior to that, Zane served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Darke County Department of Human Services.
Zane was a devoted husband, father, and friend. His wife, children and grandchildren were his greatest sources of joy and pride. He was an incredible role model and taught us all how to live a full life of loving and serving others. He was one of “the helpers.” In his last two years, Zane was also given the task of teaching us how to die with dignity, honor, and God’s grace as his guide.
In addition to his parents, Zane was preceded in death by and infant grandchild.
Zane is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn, whom he married on August 3, 1991. They shared 28 years as best friends and partners in every facet of their lives. He is also survived by his precious children, Rachel Shoffstall and her husband, Matthew; Abigail Kindley, and Matthew Kindley, and his grandchildren Kaden, Reegan, and Mason Shoffstall, all of Greenville.
Additional survivors include his sister, Susan (Jeff) Keller of San Diego, CA and brother, Galen (Donna) Kindley of Bend, OR, his father and mother –in-law Ben and Nihla York, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bryan and Yolonda Geis, and Ben and Joelle York, brother-in-law Keith Klinger, and his nephews and nieces, Jordan Geis, Kesla and Holden Klinger, and Alyssa, Olivia, and Hanna York. Zane is also survived by his dearest lifelong friends Joseph Laux, Albert Macre (Zane’s Godfather), Robert Weeks, Jim Combs, and Coleen Beasecker, a special cousin, Kay Reed, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his devoted dog, Lola.
Zane was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville. He was also a member of the Ohio Bar Association.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Minister Coleen Beasecker as celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenville Union Cemetery in Greenville, OH. Billy Joe Threewits, 92, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
Joe was born on July 27, 1927, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Byron and Garnet (Nisonger) Threewits.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Lyons.
Joe is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vera (Dickey) Threewits, whom he married on March 6, 1948; his children, Sharon Kaugher and her husband, Ronnie, of Union City, Ohio, Karen Cope and her husband, Don, of Lascassas, Tennessee, Lora Willis and her husband, Mark, of Union City, Ohio, Carl Threewits and his wife, Brenda, of Apopka, Florida, and Teresa Edger of Greenville, Ohio; his 7 grandchildren; his 10 great grandchildren; and countless nieces, and nephews.
