Mickey N. Poling, 70, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019, at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville, Ohio.
He was born on May 26, 1949, in Wayne County, Indiana, to the late Sherwood and Ruth (Vietor) Poling.
Mickey graduated in 1968 from Westmont High School in Hollansburg. He spent over 43 years working for Whirlpool in Greenville until he retired in June 2014. Mickey loved to travel the United States on his Honda Gold Wing. From California to Florida, you never knew where his next trip would take him. When he was not riding his bike, you could find him at the Union City Country Club playing golf with his friends. Mickey also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and he even went to several races around the country on his Gold Wing. Mickey was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #329 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2177, both in Greenville. He also enjoyed going to the American Legion, Post 140, also in Greenville.
Mickey is survived by his sons, Scott Poling and his wife, Leah, Jason Poling and his wife, Dawn, and Kory Poling, all of Hollansburg; his grandchildren, Zachary and Elizabeth Poling and Hunter and Aubrey Poling; and his sisters, Joan Moore and her husband, Harold “Buck”, of Hollansburg, and Connie Sherk and her husband, Sam, of Ephrata, Pennsylvania.
A celebration of Mickey’s life will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison Campus. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Mickey’s family on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the funeral home in New Madison from 5:00 PM until 6:45 PM. A Lodge of Sorrow, conducted by the Greenville Moose Lodge, will take place at 6:45 PM on Friday.
