Daniel Phillip Frech, 76, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, in the care of hospice at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana, on Friday, January 17, 2020.
Daniel was born on August 13, 1943, in New Paris, Ohio, to the late Paul and Mildred (Henderson) Frech.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Petry; his brother, James Frech; his father-in-law Chester Carter; his sister-in-law, Wanda Frech; and his brother-in-law, Dewayne Howell.
Daniel and his wife Karen owned Frech’s CafĂ© in New Madison for several years. He retired from Wayne Works in Richmond, where he worked for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and listening to bluegrass music. Daniel lived for his family. He loved giving everyone nicknames and keeping his kids and grandkids busy with countless projects.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen (Carter) Frech, whom he married July 8, 1963; his children, Phillip Frech, Kevin (Sabrina) Frech, and Michelle (John) Lowman; his grandchildren, Kevin Jr. (Ashley), Serena (Michael), Chelsea (Paul), Dereck, Travis (Kaylee), Austen (Kaitlynn), and Shelby; his great grandchildren, Emma, Teagan, Aleigha, Jackson, and Bronson; his siblings, David, Joe (Sandra), Mark (Jamie), Ruth (Doug), and Mary. Daniel is also survived by his mother-in-law, Twila Carter; and his sister-in-law, Kim (Paul) Wolfe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held for the family at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison, Campus. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery.
