Joan Mae (Kimmel) Huff, 91, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Columbus Colony Elderly Care in Westerville, Ohio.
She was born on May 9, 1929, in rural Darke County to the late Wallace Kimmel and Edna (Werts) Kimmel-Nowlin.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Edward G. Huff, Sr.; her son, Richard Huff; her stepfather, Glenn Nowlin; her stepmother, Lois Nowlin-Kimmel; her brother, Jay Kimmel; and her step-sister, Darlene Shade.
Joan graduated from St. Rita’s School of the Deaf and was actively involved with the Deaf Club and activities associated with it for many years. She loved her family and friends and spent 48 years selling Avon. She loved her Avon customers as her own family. She liked crafting and being with her dog, Tag.
Joan is survived by her son, Ed Huff, Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Ansonia; her daughter-in-law, Tami Huff of Greenville; her grandchildren, Trent Huff and his wife, Lorie, of Powell, Ohio, Travis Huff of Burbank, California, Jenna McKinnion of Piqua, Ohio, Nicholas Edward G. Huff III and his wife, Jaclyn, of Gilberts, Illinois, and Jessica Fisher of Celina, Ohio; her great grandchildren, Maurice McKinnion, Mia Mckinnion, Aden and Gena Fisher, Nicholas Edward G. Huff IV, and Rachael and Tyler Huff; her great-great grandchildren, Andrya, Vivan, and Gianna; her sister-in-law, Jackie Kimmel of Greenville; her step sisters, Sharon Sanders and her husband, Roger, of Springboro, Ohio, and Soni Hartrum of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family burial will take place at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens in Greenville.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Joan’s life will take place at a later date.
The family has entrusted Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with the arrangements.
