Richard Dwayne Ray, age 84 of Ansonia, Ohio passed away at 2:25 PM Thursday March 25, 2021 at Kindred Hospital, Lima, Ohio. Richard was born January 23, 1937 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Ora and Beaulah (Hecker) Ray.
He worked at Van Leer and then at Whirlpool.
Richard served his country in the Ohio National Guard. He enjoyed fishing with Larry Denniston, bowling, boating, skiing, camping, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife: Judith Anne Ray on April 14, 2019 whom he married December 19, 1964.
Richard is survived by his children, Vickie (Charles) Adams of Painter Creek, Dixie (Clint) Zeiler of Ansonia, Dean (Virginia) Ray of Lexington, KY. and Kirk Ray and Lora Miller of Mobile, Al.; grandchildren Ashley (Dustin), Jessica (De’Shawn), Erika (Chase), Curry (Mikayla), Katelyn, Meaghann (Daniel), Alyssa, Abigayle, Ethan, Zoey, Sasha, and Shawn; great grandchildren Carter, Kenlee, Kelsie, Bentley, and future baby Miller; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday March 30, 2021 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of the services in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center.
