James O. "Jim" Young, 73, of Greenville, passed away Monday morning, November 14, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Union City, OH, son of the late Clarence O. and Marie (Erwin) Young. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Young.
Jim was a veteran of the US Army. He was retired from Anchor Hocking Glass in Winchester, IN where he had worked for over 33 years. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church near Union City.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen J. (Bryson) Young; children, Larry Young, LeRoy (Marta) Young, Michael Young, and Jeanette Young all of Greenville; grandchildren, Jessica (fiance, Stetson Santillanes) Yoder, William Yoder, Elizabeth Yoder, Ryan (Jessica) Campbell, and Sarah Campbell; and great grandson, Branson Santillanes; brothers, Charles (Mary Ann) Young of Winchester, IN, Raymond (Shirley) Young of Union City, IN, Ronnie (Rita) Young of Rossburg, John Young of Union City, OH, Bill (Barbara) Young of Arcanum, Bob Young of Greenville, and Walt (Betty) Young of Union City, IN; a half brother, Scott Young of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 18 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Eric Swenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens near Greenville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Comprehensive Health Network.
