Norman E. Gigandet (November 16, 2011)

Norman E. Gigandet, age 69 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 7:50 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center. He was born April 23, 1942 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Leonard “Jiggs” & Lucille (Smith) Gigandet. He retired from Francis Manufacturing in Russia and he was a professional groundskeeper at Stillwater Valley Golf Course.

He served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a 50 year member of the Versailles Eagles # 2347, a member of the Vets Club of Versailles, Amvets of Covington.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Daughter: Karin Gigandet; Granddaughter: Erin Gehle; Brothers: Bob, & Jerry Gigandet.

He is survived by his wife: Myrna (Nickol) Gehle-Gigandet of Versailles; children & spouses: Max & Kris Gehle of Huntsville, Sandy & Roger Grilliot of Versailles, Dennis & Tammie Gehle of Clayton, N.C., Mark & Deb Gehle of Yorkshire, Sharon & Tom Henry of Versailles; 16 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; Brother & Sister in law: George & Evelyn Gigandet of Versailles; Sisters & Brothers in law: Shelia & Jim Didier of Versailles, Karon & Lyle Crowell of Versailles; Sister in law: Joan Gigandet of Versailles; numerous nieces & nephews.

Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Louis Cemetery, North Star, Ohio. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or The Vets Club
