Lowell E. Hamilton, 94, of Greenville, passed away early Friday morning, November 25, 2011 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.
He was born July 27, 1917 in Anderson, Indiana, son of the late Ira and Grace (Williamson) Hamilton.
Lowell had owned and operated Hamilton Motors in Greenville for 62 years. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143, the VFW Post 7262, and the American Legion Post 140.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Nordaker); sons, Lynn (Tennessie) Hamilton, Monty (Nancy) Hamilton, and Randy (Marceena) Hamilton; grandchildren, Vincent Hamilton, Jacqueline (Marne) Palmani, Katie (Tim) Pol, Matt (Stephanie) Hamilton, Kelly (Jim) Otis, Krista Hamilton, Ryan (Brooke) Hamilton, and Lori (Josh) Sharp; 7 great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 28 from 5-7 p.m. with the Masonic Lodge having a memorial service at 6:45 p.m.The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
