Phyllis is survived by her husband, Bud C. Overholser whom she married July 19, 1952; children, Sonnie & Bob Rhoades of Webster, Steve & Gracie Overholser of Greenville, Boo & Peggy Overholser of Bradford and Ben & Gail Overholser of Greenville; grandchildren, Marie & Brent Carity, Carrie & Eric Behlke, Emily & Rick Clark, Niki Routt, Tyler Overholser, Mandi & Joe Zwiesler, Lydia & Jeremy Brenner, Aaron & Lindsey Overholser and Josh Overholser & fiancée, Jennifer Hall; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Athleen Buhrman of Arcanum; sister-in-law, Barbara Christner of Thomson, Georgia; brother-in-law, Richard Overholser of Piqua; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher S. Overholser; brother, John Peters; sister, Zona Bashore; and brother-in-law, Larry Overholser.
Phyllis formerly worked at JC Penney and was head cook at Greenville Junior and Senior High Schools. Phyllis was a member of the Webster United Methodist Church. Phyllis was a former 4-H Advisor.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Care.
