Dixie was born December 22, 1958, in Greenville to Robert “Bob” Melling of Greenville and the late Barbara (Varvel) Melling. In addition to her mother, Dixie was also preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Head; and a granddaughter, Mackenzie Clark.
Dixie was survived by her children, James “JJ” Clark & Sarah Erbaugh of Greenville, Amy Clark & James Head of Greenville, Krystal Lewis & Tyler Hoisington of Greenville and Nikki Clark & Caleb Duncan of Greenville; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Neva & Mitch Herron of St. Marys, Phyllis & John Riegle of Pitsburg, Cathy Melling of Greenville and Robin Melling of Piqua; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dixie’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Jim Morehouse Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
