John was born May 5, 1944, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Joseph Paul & Virginia Mae (Corbly) Neff.
John is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Fryman) Neff whom he married October 4, 1975; and son & daughter-in-law, David & Miranda Neff of Englewood.
John was a police officer for Greenville City Police Department for 8 years and retired in 2006 from Union City Police Department Union City, Ohio, with 15 years of service. John was also an antique dealer for many years. He was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren, National Historical Print Collectors Society, Antique Paper Conservation & Restoration, Darke County Genealogical Society and Miami County Genealogical Society.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Greenville Church of the Brethren 421 Central Ave. Greenville with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund or State of the Heart Care. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
