Norma Mae Utz age 80 of Versailles passed away at 12:52 A.M. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. Norma was born July 12, 1929 in Mercer County, Ohio, to the late Oscar & Marie (Baker) Schaadt.
Norma was a homemaker. She was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Norma is also preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Utz; grandson, Kenneth Michael Utz; and sisters, Anna Lee Kohlhorst, Bonnie Martens and Margaret Rismiller.
Norma is survived by her sons, Phil Utz of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Eddie Utz of Columbus, Ohio, and Chris Utz of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; daughters, Patty Utz of Loraine, Ohio, Vicki Kohne of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, and Karen Utz of Greenville; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and sisters, Rosemary Knapke of Celina and Lois Gross of Troy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles, Ohio with Pastor Linda Dulin officiating. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery in Brock, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. David Dwight Runner, 68, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 6:23 PM at his residence. He was born on November 15, 1940 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late William “Bill” & Violet (Riffle) Runner.
David retired from the Union City Body Company and also worked at the Dayton Daily News for many years. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting and antique tractors.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death his wife, Alice Kay Runner whom he married on June 1, 1962; son, William Dwight “Bud” Runner; son in law, Allan Jay “A.J.” Byram; 1 brother and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law; Cary & Sherry Runner of Greenville, Ohio, daughter; Roxann Byram of Greenville, Ohio, grandchildren; Kaley Byram and Addison Byram, brother and sister in law; Duard “Doc” & Jean Runner of Greenville, Ohio, sister and brother in law; Martha & John Singleman of Greenville, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born in Greenville, son of the late Robert and Delores (Boyer) Thompson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Beckett.
Tom had worked for several years for Marsh Supermarket/Lo-Bill's in Greenville. He later worked for Fauricua in Troy and part time for 9 months at Eikenberry's Super Value.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gloria B. (Mayo) Thompson, whom he married September 25, 1971; a daughter, Kyrie R. Gerald "Smitty" Smith (October 27, 2009)
He was born in Darke County on January 3, 1929, son of the late David Oscar and Amy (Keever) Smith. Gerald worked for Hansbarger’s as a delivery man and then went to school to become a repair man. Later, Gerald opened his own business “Smitty’s Appliance Repair” which he operated for over 25 years. He loved wood working, spending time with his family and beloved friend, Maggie, his Pomeranian. Gerald loved his country and served honorably with the United States Army in WWII abroad in both Germany and France.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janice (Collins) Smith whom he married on February 1, 1968; three sons, Dan Smith, Joe and Denise Best, and Ronnie and Jeanne Best; two daughters, Bonita and Tom Schlechty, and T.K. and Jeff Reigle; 11 grandchildren, Danny and Lori Smith, Krystal Smith and Ryan Bussell, Jason Best, Casey Best, Natalie and Chris Patterson, Shawn and Alisha Best, Dustin Best, Josh Best and Becky Stoltz, Hayley Buirley and Steve Spencer, Chelsea Buirley, and Haedon Schlechty; and 8 great grandchildren, Juniper Bussell, Landon Patterson, Ryan Best, Maddie Best, Robby Best, Camryn Best, Natalie Best, and Landon Smith.

(Hosetter) Gibbel. He was a member of the Palestine Old Brethren Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator at Miller Brothers. He was the widower of Mary Anna (Brumbaugh) Gibbel who died October 24, 2007, also preceded in death by a brother Rufus Gibbel, 2 sisters Mae Meyers and Amy Kegerries. Jacob is survived by a daughter Dixie Heisey and husband Duane of Pendleton, IN; a son Richard Gibbel and wife Barbara of West Milton; 5 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Patrick Z. Miller age 54 of Union City, Ohio passed away at 10:44 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Patrick was born November 25, 1954, in Greenville, Ohio, to Doris Jean (Rentz) Miller of Greenville and the late Marion Z. Miller.
Patrick worked in the maintenance department at Wal-Mart in Greenville. Patrick was a member of the Aero Modelers Association of Greenville.
In addition to his mother, Patrick is survived by his wife, Linda (Hunt) Miller, whom he married August 24, 1974. He is also survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Nathan Z. and Rachel Miller of Muncie, Indiana; daughter, Kristi Miller of Tipp City; grandchildren, Gabriel Z. Doris A. Moorman-Trick, 80, of Greenville, passed away Friday morning, October 23, 2009 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.
She was born in North Star, daughter of the late Cletus and Curreta I. (Pepple) Subler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Parl E. "Junior" Trick, Jr. on January 9, 2007; a brother, Gene Subler and a sister, Wanda Wilson.
Doris was retired from Fram/Allied Signal in Greenville and was also a home health care giver.
She is survived by her children, David (Diane) Diller, Donald (Pam) Moorman, Sheila Whiting, Jerry (Deborah) Bunch and David (Mardi) Moorman; a step daughter, Rhonda Stump; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Max Subler, Maxine Sanders, Phyllis Beam and Sharon Black; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 27 at 11 a.m. at the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with the Fr. John White officiating.

Mr. Daniel J. Yeomans, age 77 of Greenville and formerly of Arcanum passed away at 11:25 P.M. Thursday October 22, 2009 at Heartland Nursing Home of Greenville, Ohio. Daniel was born December 3, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts.
He was the son of the late Arthur L. and Ethel M. (Reaver) Yeomans Sr.
Daniel retired in 1987 from Delco Products of Dayton where he had been employed for 37 years as an Engineer. He was the son of the late Arthur L. and Ethel M. (Reaver) Yeomans Sr.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Arcanum Masonic Lodge #295, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, a Lifetime Member of the Greenville V.F.W., member of the Greenville Eagles and Elks Lodges and was a avid collector of birds and plates.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie who passed away as a young child, also 2 sisters Delores Locker and Jackie Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife Hazel E. (Hoover) Yeomans of Greenville. They were married August 9, 1952. Also survived by sons and daughters in law—Daniel J. and Linda Yeomans II of Greenville, Jeff D. and Jean Marie Yeomans of Arcanum, and Douglas E. and Eva Yeomans of Greenville. Grandchildren—Jason and Teresa Cheadle, Troy and Nicole Yeomans, Angie Yeomans, April and Charles Raby, Mark and Renee Yeomans, Sheena Marie Yeomans, Kaylee M. Denniston, Ariel and James Maloney. Great Grandchildren—10, brothers and sisters in law—Arthur and Ann Yeomans of Centerville, Ohio and Gerald and Bev Reaver of Billings, Montana. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday October 27, 2009 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Joe LeMaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 till 8 P.M. in the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:45 P.M. Monday by the Arcanum Masonic Lodge and Full Military Services conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will be scheduled for Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Lawrence J. Monnin Jr. age 38 of New Weston, Ohio passed away at 5:01 P.M. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at his residence. Lawrence was born May 10, 1971 in Coldwater, Ohio to Vickie (Dross) Monnin of Versailles and the late Lawrence J. Monnin Sr.
Lawrence worked at Buscher Dairy Farm in North Star and also at MCERV in Celina. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood. He served on the City Council for New Weston and was secretary of MCERV.
In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Lorrene Taylor Monnin; grandfathers, John Dross and Thomas Monnin; and great grandmother; Goldie Black.

Jeanette Cecil (October 20, 2009)
Jeanette Cecil, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa formerly of Arcanum, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Jeanette was born October 26, 1931 at home in Hollansburg, to the late Norman "Red" and Edith (Miller) Irelan. Although she only had a high school education, she rose to be the Vice President of Trust at Key Bank in Dayton, OH, retiring in 1996. Jeanette was an avid reader, sometimes reading several books a week. She belonged to several card groups and the Red Hat Society. She loved traveling throughout the United Stated and Europe, especially to visit with her children and grandchildren. In recent years, she volunteered at Mercy Medical Center. Jeanette was preceded in death by her brother Richard Irelan and Sister Shirley Long. She is survived by children, Col. David Sarver and wife Helen of Spokane, WA, Michael Sarver and wife Margi of Newport Coast, CA, and Carol Trask of Cedar Rapids; sister Karen Via of Marathon, WI; and five grandchildren, Robert and Megan Sarver, Michael, Kelly and Ian Trask; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment at the convenience of the Family in Hollansburg Cemetery. Orville W. Lavy (October 20, 2009)
Orville Wilbur Lavy, 93, of Arcanum, died Tuesday evening, October 20, 2009 at the Brethren Retirement Community. The 4th son of David & Ida Flora Lavy was born September 2, 1916 in Franklin Twp., Darke County. As a young man he was baptized into the church of his choice, the OGBB Church and remained faithful. On September 8, 1934 he was united in marriage to Opal Irene Metzger of Montgomery Co., the daughter of Charles Wm. Metzger and Huldah Miller. Three children were born to them, Alberta, Delmar, and Dean. Soon after Dean's birth, Opal passed away on January 28, 1950. On November 18, 1950, he married Edna Ruth Landis Jones. Most of his life Daddy was a farmer, but tried his hand in making cabinets, selling Shaklee, and a few other things. Together they liked to travel, fishing, and hunting were his hobbies. He instilled the love of the outdoors and nature to his Grand and Great Grandsons. They shared the joys and sorrows of life till God saw fit to call Mother home on September 25, 2000. Again Daddy was very lonesome, but continued to stay at home until his eyesight began to fail him and then made his home at the Brethren Retirement Community. He made many new friends there quite quickly, telling them all about his life's experiences. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Clarence, infant Brother Virgil (of 9 days), Ezra, and Lester, grandson David Lavy and great grandson Nathan Lavy. Surviving are his daughter Alberta Sarver (husband John) of Arcanum; Sons Delmar (wife Marjorie) of Eltopia, WA and Dean (wife Ginny) of Arcanum; Step sons Gary Jones (wife Janet) of Eldorado and Dean Jones (wife Becky) of Greenville; 7 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. 5 step grandchildren, 25 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday October 23, 2009 at the Painter Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Burial will follow in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, beside his first wife. The family will receive relatives and friends 5 - 8 PM Thursday at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum.

Wanda retired from COVSP. She served many years on the Advisory Board of the Local Darke County Community Action Partnership Board plus as a Miami Valley Board Member. She volunteered for many years at the Community Unity. Playing bridge was a favorite pastime. She was also a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, Ohio.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 53 years Larry Paul of Greenville, Ohio; daughters and sons in law, Cindy & John Ashworth of Wichita, Kansas, Jennifer & Tim Moore of Delaware, Ohio and Peg & Steve Schultz of Greenville, Ohio; sons and daughters in law, Rodney & Carol Paul of Greenville, Ohio and Greg & Brenda Paul of St. Henry, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers in law, Dee and Randy Crusoe of Troy, Ohio and Judy & Larry Williams of Piqua, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Robert L. Schafer, age 85 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:55 P.M. Sunday October 18, 2009 at the Versailles Health Care Center. Bob was born February 4, l924 in Darke County, son of the late Daniel and Bertha (Dismeier) Schafer.
He was retired from the American Aggregate Corporation formerly of Greenville, Ohio where he had been employed in the bookkeeping department.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre with the 9th Division of the U.S. Army and a recipient of 5 Bronze Battle Stars and the Purple Heart. Bob was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville, the Greenville V.F.W. and the D.A.V. Also the Greenville Masonic Lodge, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the Greenville Elk’s Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Lee (Ware) Schafer August 21, 2004, brothers Harold, Elmer, Herbert and Lawrence. Also a sister Florence Treon.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law—Stephen and Carole Schafer of Greenville. Gary L. Daugherty, 59, of Arcanum, died Tuesday evening, October 13, 2009 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Mr. Daugherty was born in Shelby County on June 21, 1950, the son of the late Ronald G. and Betty J. (Cole) Daugherty who survives. He was employed as a custodian at National Trail Local School District. Dylan Robert Simons (October 11, 2009)
Dylan Robert Simons, 16, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 6:06 PM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on July 30, 1993 in Greenville, Ohio to Kennedy Simons of Ft. Loramie, Ohio and Tammy (Moody) Thobe of Greenville, Ohio.
Dylan was involved in a youth group in Greenville, he loved being with his friends and admired his younger brother, he loved reading and was also involved in the Boy Scouts. Dylan was very funny and loved to joke around with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister Crystal Rinderle; aunt, Patty Ann Simons; and uncle, Dennis Simons.

Lucille C. (Barton) Monnin age 96 of Versailles, passed away at 6:10 A.M. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Lucille was born July 27, 1913 in Frenchtown, Ohio, to the late Joseph & Elizabeth (Matthew) Barton.
Lucille was a homemaker. Lucille formerly worked at Buckeye Overall Company in Versailles for 30 years and General Athletic in Greenville for 7 years. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles.
In addition to her parents, Lucille is also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. Monnin on March 15, 2003, whom she married August 22, 1933; son, Roger Monnin; brothers, Bernard, Lester, Wilmer and Cletus Barton; and sisters, Catherine Dapore and Anna Marie Francis.

Delbert N. Barga, 95, of Versailles, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 7, 2009 at the Wayne Hospital in Greenville.
He was born in Frenchtown, son of the late Peter John and Laura Catherine (York) Barga. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Kay Barga in 1957; brothers and sister, Marie Werling, Stella Rinderlery, Ralph Barga, Ruth Paulus, Kenneth Barga, Caroline Carey, Manford "Jim" Barga, Norbert Barga, Paul Barga, Kathleen Starrett, Noah Barga, Zita Leonhard, Patrick Barga and Marcellus Barga.
A retired licensed livestock dealer and farmer, Delbert was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown and had attended the Country Church of Rose Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Bessie (Myers) Barga; a brother, Anthony of Sidney; sisters, Mary Lou Wright and Annabelle Hall both of Sidney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

C.A. "Brownie" Brown, 88, of Bellbrook, Ohio and formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday morning, October 6, 2009 at the Bellbrook Rehabilitation Center.
A veteran of the US Army, 161st Parachute Engineer Company"Brownie" had served during WWII in Southern Phillippines, Luzon and New Guinea. He was retired from NCR in Dayton and was well known for his service and handyman work.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June E. (Miller) whom he married on February 25, 1946; children, Joyce A. Page of Hillsboro, Janice K. Qualls of Bellbook, James N. Brown of Washington Courthouse and John W. Brown of West Carrollton; 4 grandchildren, Natalie K. Herdman, William J. Briggs, Justin C. Brown and Joshua L. Mr. Russell E. Bucholtz, age 86 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday October 6, 2009 at 5:02 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community. He was born March 17, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Barney E. & Forest Mae (Small) Bucholtz.
He was a farmer and served in World War II in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church where he served as an Elder, on the Board, on the Building Committee, & as Treasurer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Son: Jim Bucholtz; Grandson: Ted Harpest; Brother: Carl Bucholtz; & an infant sister.
He is survived by his Wife: L. Naomi T. Francis age 95 of Russia, Ohio, passed away at 11:15 A.M. on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at her residence after a brief illness. Naomi was born October 15, 1913 in Russia, Ohio.
Naomi was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia. Naomi enjoyed nature, gardening, painting and her grandchildren.

Kevin Ray Rue, 49, of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Sat., October 3, 2009 at 6:55 AM at his residence. He was born on December 18, 1959 in Miami County, Ohio to his father John Allen Rue of Covington, Ohio and his special friend Pam Davis and his late mother Frankie Francis (Loften) Voisard and step father Cyril Voisard of Bradford, Ohio.
Kevin worked at the Foundry in Russia, Ohio. He was a member of the United States Army, he loves Cleveland Browns football and NASCAR.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his nephew Joshua Rue.
There will be a service held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery, Brock, Ohio. Sylvia Utz, 110, of Greenville, died early Monday morning, October 5, 2009 at the Brethren Retirement Community. Mrs. Utz was a former resident of Oakes Rd., Pitsburg and N. Main St., Arcanum. Mrs. Utz was born in Franklin Township, Darke County on March 9, 1899, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Clara Belle (Newcomer) Booker. She was a Homemaker and Mother. Sylvia was a member of Pitsburg Church of the Brethren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 83 years Harley Utz, who died November 12, 2001, her son Emerson Utz, 2 grandchildren Tom Brown and Virginia Baxter, 2 brothers Harless and Willis Booker, and 2 sisters Delcie Kress and Viola Myers. Sylvia is survived by her daughter Doris Jean Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; son Harley Utz, Jr. and wife Rosemary of Minden, Nevada; 3 grandsons Steven A. Utz and wife Christy of Dayton, Byron Utz and wife Marcia of Arcanum, and Eric Utz of Greenville; 7 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum with Pastor Ty Pyles officiating. Burial will follow in Mote Cemetery Pitsburg. Mrs. Daisy E. Trisler, 90, originally from Watertown, South Dakota, and longtime resident of Vandalia, Ohio; Tucson, Arizona; and Greenville, Ohio. Daisy passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 9:35 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on April 9, 1919 in Watertown, South Dakota to the late Andrew and Nellie (Gunnison) O'Neal.
She was a housewife and loved to travel; taking care of her home and loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by 6 siblings.
She is survived by husband, Robert A. Trisler of Greenville, Ohio; son and daughter in law Don & Catherine Trisler of Massachusetts; daughter and son in law Connie & Roger Brocious of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren Molly Trisler, Jeff & April Brocious, Gus & Angie Brocious; 3 great granddaughters; 5 great grandsons; brother and sister in law Jim & Leona Oneal of Minnesota; step sister Peggy McKeand of Florida as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dorothy M. Stachler, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:50 P.M. Thursday October 1, 2009 at the Versailles Health Care Center. She was born May 16, 1917 in Philothea, Mercer County, Ohio. The daughter of the late William & Elizabeth (Stucke) Ahrns.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville and the Rosary Altar Society of the Church. Dorothy also enjoyed putting crossword puzzles together.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband—Edmund T. Stachler in October 1, 1983. They were married February 4, 1937. Also by her son—David Stachler May 1, 1955. Two Grandsons—David Joseph Droesch and Duston Stachler, Three sisters and Three brothers are also deceased.
Dorothy is survived by 6 sons and 2 daughters—Dolores (Stachler) & Dale Droesch of Coldwater, Donald & Patricia Stachler of Philothea, Dennis & Phyllis Stachler of Burkettsville, Darrell & Patricia Stachler of Liberty Township, Dianna (Stachler) Hemmelgarn of Versailles, Dale Stachler of Greenville, Duane & Debra Stachler of Mt. Willie L. “Billy” Turner age 32 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 9:21 P.M. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the E.R. at Wayne Hospital. Billy was born May 19, 1977 in Greenville, Ohio, to Tollie & Teresa (Bone) Turner of Greenville.
Billy was a 1997 Graduate of Versailles High School.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by, first husband William Melvin Dickey, second husband Willard Castle, brothers Floyd, Robert, Donald and Ronald Parks, sisters Gladys Howard, Winifred Lauber, Helen Shahan and Florence Sullenbarger and an infant sister Phyllis Parks.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Galen & Martha Dickey of Englewood, Ohio, daughter and son in law, Wanda & Jim Caupp of Greenville, Ohio, grandchildren Gareth Dickey, Gayle Huston, Sharon Bennell, Mel Caupp, Larry Caupp and Steve Caupp, 14 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, sister in law Nina Collett of Wayne Lakes, Ohio, brother in law Jim Castle as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Waldo Emerson Witwer (September 29, 2009)
Mr. Waldo Emerson Witwer, 96, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:35 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on January 17, 1913 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Harley & Myrtle (Cassel) Witwer.
He attended Gettysburg High School and graduated in 1930. He attended University of Cincinnati and studied electrical engineering. He worked for a short time at Petersime Incubator Factory in Gettysburg and then Hobart Mgf Co. for 36 years as a supervisor of the Motor Department. He was a dedicated and faithful member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren all his life. His passions there were serving others through helping with various church projects including Dinner Theater food preparation, the Watermelon Tent at the Great Darke County Fair, and serving meals at the Old German Baptist Brethren Annual Meetings. He also served as deacon for many years and on the Village of Gettysburg’s Town Council for several years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son in law J. D. Weaver.

He worked at FPE in New Madison, Ohio and loved to cook.

In addition to his parents he is survived by; devoted mate for 29 years, Geraldine Hurd of Greenville; daughter, Shareece Hendrix of Greenville; brothers and sister in law, David & Tracy Hendrix of Greenville and Charles Coulter of Greenville; life long family member, Charles Jones of Greenville; uncle, Melree Morrison of Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Devin Hendrix, Keisha Hendrix, Regina Coulter, Latosha Stone, Willow Stone and Ashley Breig as well as several other nieces and nephews, other family members, Richard & Janet Hurd, Carolyn Mobbs, Sharon & Thomas Ester, Tim Hurd and Sondra Hurd all of Greenville and Chris Gregg of Missouri.
There will be a service held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Lyle officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 1-3 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family or Zechar Bailey Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
Kevin R. Bruner (October 3, 2009)
Kevin R. Bruner, 39, Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning in Greenville.
He was born in Greenville, son of the late Richard Bruner and Pamela (Tucker) Bruner-Murphy of Hudson, FL.
Kevin was a self employed heavy equipment specialist. He was a 1988 graduate of Greenville High School. He served in The US Air Force having been stationed in Korea. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles Lodge all of Greenville.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Teresa (Alexander) Bruner; a daughter, Holly Sue Bruner and a son Kyle Richard Bruner both of Greenville; sisters, Honey Whittington of Kissimmee, FL, and Michelle Eaton of Florida; a brother, Gordon James of New York; step fathers, Richard Murphy and Donald James; an aunt Mary Delk; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held Thursday, October 8 at 11 a.m. at the Abbottsville Cemetery with Rev. Sam Hoeflich officiating.
There will be no public visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Kevin R. Bruner Memorial Fund at Greenville National Bank, for his children.

Pauline Hufford, 95, of Greenville, passed away late Thursday evening, October 1, 2009 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
She was born in Greenville, daughter of the late Charles and Linnie (Brady) Powell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hufford on October 4, 2002 and sister, Mildred Mowery.
A Homemaker, Pauline was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church in Greenville and Gideons International.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Leas and Shirley (Dave) Minsterman both of Greenville; 4 grandchildren, Diana Cronin of Hilliard, Mike Leas of West Liberty, Karla Nealeigh of Union and Julie Hart of Greenville; 9 great grandchildren; and a sister, Isabelle Hufford of St. Mary's.
