He was a farmer and served in World War II in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church where he served as an Elder, on the Board, on the Building Committee, & as Treasurer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Son: Jim Bucholtz; Grandson: Ted Harpest; Brother: Carl Bucholtz; & an infant sister.
He is survived by his Wife: L. Marie (Brooks) Bucholtz of Greenville whom he married on May 18, 1947; Sons & daughter in law: Ron & Karen Bucholtz of Greenville, & Tim Bucholtz of Arcanum; Daughter & son in law: Sharon & Fred Harpest of Greenville; Grandchildren & spouse: Ned Bucholtz, Ben Bucholtz, Lyndie & Nathan Sabin, Karie Harpest, & Kaci Harpest; Great Grandchildren: Austin, & Twins Adrienne & Abrielle Sabin; Sister & brother in law: Lorene & Berlin Kauffman; Sister in law: Dolores Bucholtz.
Services will be held on Friday October 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Doug Klinsing officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday October 8, 2009 at the funeral home. Veterans Services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.
