Mr. David Dwight Runner, 68, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 6:23 PM at his residence. He was born on November 15, 1940 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late William “Bill” & Violet (Riffle) Runner.
David retired from the Union City Body Company and also worked at the Dayton Daily News for many years. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting and antique tractors.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death his wife, Alice Kay Runner whom he married on June 1, 1962; son, William Dwight “Bud” Runner; son in law, Allan Jay “A.J.” Byram; 1 brother and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law; Cary & Sherry Runner of Greenville, Ohio, daughter; Roxann Byram of Greenville, Ohio, grandchildren; Kaley Byram and Addison Byram, brother and sister in law; Duard “Doc” & Jean Runner of Greenville, Ohio, sister and brother in law; Martha & John Singleman of Greenville, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Krauss officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be given to the American Heart Association.
