Robert A. Van DePitte, 67 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Saturday April 27, 2013 at 7:00 AM in Columbus. He was born May 1, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Gertrude (Gray) Van DePitte of Union City, Ohio and the late Alidoor Van DePitte.

Services will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday May 1, 2013 at Rossburg United Methodist Church 117 Ross Street. Rossburg, Ohio with Pastor John Monroe officiating. Ardith Elaine Grimes (April 27, 2013)

Ardith Elaine Grimes, 67, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

She was born April 16, 1946 in Greenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Herman & Helen (Mote) Grimes.

She worked for the United Telephone Company for 40 years.

She is survived by her sisters; Bonnie (Dean) Whipp of Greenville, OH, Cynthia (Forest “Bill”) Gibson of Greenville, OH, and Dakota (Paul Cupak) Rose of Franklin, IN;brother, Dallas Grimes of Greenville, OH; neices and nephews; Jason Christman,
Jodi Christman, Ryan (Becky) Christman, Scott (Diana) Gibson and Stacey (Tony) Alexander.

Graveside committal services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Glen C. Beisner (April 28, 2013)

Glen C. Beisner, age 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 5:20 PM at his residence. He was born on June 14, 1930 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Andrew & Blanche (Brewer) Beisner.

Glen is survived by his son, Dane Beisner of Arcanum, Ohio; grandchildren and spouses, Angela Beisner, Gary & Karly Beisner II and Ronnie E. & Jessi Beisner; great grandchildren, Devin & Dylan Beisner; brother in law and sister in law, Donnie (Eira) West of Florida and Kaye (Lowell) Whitacre of Union City, Indiana.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Beisner whom he married on March 31, 1954; daughter in law, Martha Beisner; brothers, Don, Bob and Delbert Beisner; and sister Patricia Beisner.

Glen retired in 1993 from General Motors as a Skill Tradesman after 37 years of service. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp serving in the Korean Conflict, American Legion #140, Moose Lodge #329 and Eagles Lodge #2177. He was also a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and Antioch Shrine of Dayton.

There will be a Masonic Memorial Service conducted by the Greenville Masonic Lodge on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday morning from 9-11 AM at the funeral home. A Graveside Military Service will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.

Robert L. Zumbrun (April 28, 2013)

Robert L. Zumbrun, 89 of Greenville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2013 at 6:30a.m. at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville, Ohio.

He was born September 19, 1923 in Randolph County, IN, son of the late John and Bessie (Smith) Zumbrun. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Zumbrun; a son-in-law; a grandchild; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and one nephew.

Robert was retired from Sheller Globe of Union City, a retired farmer, as well as a Gideon (Jail Ministry) for 51 years. He was a member of the Flying Farmers, attended Trinity Wesleyan Church, and was a donor to many Christian organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth E. (Stullen) Zumbrun; 5 children, Cynthia (John) Fisher of Greenville, Tracy (Linda) Zumbrun of Greenville, Marcia Tucker of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Tammy (Jim) Bolin of Greenville, and John Zumbrun of Union City; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

Services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1:00p.m. at Trinity Wesleyan Church at 1400 East Main St. Greenville. Burial will follow in Teegarden Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10am to 1pm. The family requests that the memorial contributions be given to the Trinity Wesleyan Church Missionary Fund.

Loretta J. Lynn (April 22, 2013)

Loretta J. Lynn, 48, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 22, 2013 at her residence.

She is survived by her mother, Norma Baker; a sister, Kathy and Mike Best; a brother, Kenneth Baker; a daughter, Amber and Donald "Lucky" Osborne; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Osborne; a grandson expected to arrive in August, 2013; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Loretta loved being around her friends and family. She enjoyed the outdoors, but her greatest joys were her granddaughter, Brooklyn and her best friend, her dog Doodles.

A memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Hollansburg, Ohio, 200 Main Street with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Harold Dwight Young, 78, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his residence.

He was born July 11, 1934, in Richmond, Indiana, a son of the late Eugene & Belle (Runner) Young. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Young; a sister, Carol Flatter Jameson and a great granddaughter, Olive Clark.

He was a member of the Greenville North Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
His is survived by his wife of 57 years, Roxie (Reier) Young, four children; Robin (Brian) Shultz of Ansonia, OH, Rhonda (Mark) Alspaugh of Celina, OH, Randy (Lisa) Young of Greenville, OH and Roger (Alisa) Young of Eaton, OH; 8 grandchildren, Isaiah Young, Caleb Shultz, Maria Vaughan, Levi Shultz, Brittany Clark, Brandy Parker, Micaiah Young and Isaac Young; 5 great grandchildren and sister Evelyn Kay Huffman of Dublin, GA.

Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Greenville with Kerby Goff officiating.

Lula E. Noggle, 99, of Greenville, OH, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Brethren Home Retirement Community in Greenville.

She was born June 10, 1913 in Darke County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Alfred and Lula Ethel (Reck) O'Dell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Noggle, on July 16, 2001; daughter, Lula B. Jones; son, William Noggle; grandchildren, Kimberly Noggle, Richard North and Lena Noggle Eldridge; great grandchild Wilfred Jones; brothers, James, William and Max O'Dell and a sister, Glenna Schlosser.

Lula was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.

She is survived by her children; Dr. Larry (June) Noggle of New Braunfels, TX, Charles "Jim" (Lois) Noggle of Muncie, IN, Sherolyn North of Greenville, OH; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and
great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edna Copland of Greenville, Donna Trick of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, May 3, 2013 at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Doug Klingsing. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Cletus F. Wenning age 84 of St. Rt. 716 Osgood, Ohio died at 9:15 AM on Friday, April 26, 2013 at his home.

He was born December 9, 1928 in Yorkshire, Ohio to the late Anton & Sophia (Hoelscher) Wenning. On May 14, 1955 he married Lois Schlarman in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood.

She survives in Osgood. He is also survived by children, Robert L. & Sarah Wenning, Evanston, IL, Lisa G. & Dale Mescher, Minster, Ohio, Timothy G. & Anita Wenning, Columbus, Ohio, Steven A. & Lori Wenning, Ansonia, Ohio, Douglas J. & Carolyn Wenning, Troy, Ohio, 8 grandchildren, sister & brother, Theresa Alexander, Russia, Ohio & Leo & Marge Wenning, Yorkshire, Ohio, in-laws Frances “Fritz” Wenning, Dayton, Ohio, Velma Magoteaux, Osgood, Ohio, Clara & Ohmer Brandewie, Osgood, Ohio, Lucille Ketering, Eaton, Ohio, Imelda Stucke, Osgood, Ohio, Hugo & Betty Schlarman, Osgood, Ohio.

Barbara L. "Bobby" Howe (April 24, 2013)

Barbara L. "Bobby" Howe, 83, of Greenville OH, formally of New Weston, passed away Wednesday night, April 24, 2013 at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg, Ohio.

She was born February 7, 1930 in Darke County, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Slick) Price. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Bud" Howe, on February 19, 1990; daughter, Linda Kaye Caupp; granddaughters, Samantha Hardwick and Stephanie York; brothers, Tony Price, Clayton Price; sisters, Martha Singer and Mary Staugler.

Barb had been retired from Westinghouse in Union City where she had worked for 18 years. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and Darke County Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children, Shirley (Dick) Grilliot of Ansonia, OH, Susan (Don) Pelletier of Albuquerque, NM, Penny (Jack) Olesen of Eagle Colorado, Connie (Scott) Foreman of New Madison, Randy Howe of Greenville; grandchildren, Michele (Steve) Benjamin, Monica (Scott) Forshey, Melissa (Chris) Richards, Nathaniel (Joanna) Pelletier, Nicole (Danny) Luceras, Benjamin, Patrick, and Sarah Pelletier, Steve (April) Billenstein, Brittani (T.J.) Hines, Heidi (Matt) Sanders, Alexa, and Madison Foreman; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Black; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving dog and companion "Reggie".

Edna Evaline (Snyder) Myers (April 24, 2013)

Edna Evaline (Snyder) Myers of Greenville, Ohio went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 6:45 PM at Wayne HealthCare at the age of 90.

Evaline was born in Butler Township on November 14, 1922, the daughter of Calvin and Laura (Oliver) Snyder. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Myers on March 28, 1981; sons, Gene Myers and Jack Myers; grandchildren, Lori Williams and Scot Myers; daughters in law, Teena Myers and Linda Myers; son in law, Marcus Payne and brothers, Leon Snyder, Lester Snyder and Thomas Snyder.

Evaline devoted her life to raising and loving her family. She is a member of EUM Church and was an avid quilter and member of the church quilting circle. She was employed and retired from the Brethren’s Home. She enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flowers.

Karen L. (Keel) Jackson, age 54, of Union City, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 8:53 AM at her residence. She was born on August 12, 1958 in Fox River, Illinois, to Jewel Ezra (Wright) Keel of Union City, Ohio, and the late Noah Bryan Keel Jr.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her siblings, Noah “Chuck” & Shree Keel of St. Mary’s, Ohio; Phillip R. & Glenna Keel of Radcliff, Kentucky; Janice & Terry Byrd of Byrdstown, Tennessee; Linda Stewart of Union City, Indiana; Michael & Becky Keel of Saratoga, Indiana; Debra McCubbin of Greenville; Robert & Cindy Keel of Union City, Ohio, and Jerry Keel of Union City, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; step daughters, Brandy and Dee Dee; 4 step grandchildren; and special friend Francis Rose of Union City, Ohio.

Karen was an animal lover and worked at an Animal Shelter in Texas and was a member of the Community Fellowship Church in Union City, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her father and first husband Mark Thornburg.

There will be a Memorial Service held on Thursday April 25, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Community Fellowship Church, 1051 North Jackson Pike, Union City, Indiana, with Pastor Roger Garland Officiating. Private Burial will be in the Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Indiana. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Mary Evelyn Strauss (April 22, 2013)

Mary Evelyn Strauss age 96, of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Monday morning, April 22, 2013 at Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mary was born February 28, 1917 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Herman L. & Mary E. (Baltes) Pepiot.

Mary is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Yvonne & Thomas Hart of Waynesville, North Carolina and Carolyn & Orville Stachler of Lakeview, Ohio; step son & step daughter-in-law, Jim & Kathy Strauss of Flushing, Michigan; step daughter & step son-in-law, Janet & Vern Lindsey of Monroe, Michigan; grandchildren, Denise & Steve Stephenson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Yvette Hart of Waynesville, North Carolina, Eric Stachler of Versailles, Ohio, Rob & Nancy Stachler of Lakeview, Ohio, Michael & Beth Stachler of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Michelle Kearns of Rocky River, Ohio and Krista & Shane Rodgers of Rocky River, Ohio; 3 step grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, John Pepiot of Versailles, Ohio; sister & brother-in-law, Wanda & Richard Keiser of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary is also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Adrian J. Monnin on November 25, 1976 whom she married June 14, 1938; 2nd husband, Elmer A. Pleiman on January 10, 1989 whom she married November 23, 1979; 3rd husband, Ray Strauss on October 24, 2009 whom she married September 4, 1993; brothers, Earl & Bob Pepiot; and sister, Roberta James.

Mary graduated from Versailles High School in 1935 and attended Fredericks Academy in Springfield. Mary worked at Rike’s Department Store in Dayton for 27 years. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and the Daughter’s of Isabella. Mary enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team, traveling, quilting and spending her winters in Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Cary G. Runner, of Greenville, OH, passed away Monday evening, April 22, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.

He was born September 14, 1963 in Greenville, son of the late David and Alice (Snyder) Runner. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Dwight "Bud" Runner; and a brother-in-law, Alan J. Byram.


Cary had most recently worked at Whirlpool. Prior to that he had delivered the Dayton Daily News for several years, and had worked as a meat cutter. He was an avid fisherman and loved playing poker.

He is survived by his wife Sherry (Corder) Runner, who he married May 19, 1989: a sister Roxann Byram of Greenville and her children, Kaley and Addison Byram; mother-in-law, Helen Corder of Greenville; father-in-law, Jack (Mae) Corder of Kentucky; brother-in-law, Kevin Corder of Kentucky and his children, Sierra Corder and Joshua Corder; sister-in-law, Stacey Corder of Greenville; and his best friend and companion, Emmie.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 27 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Rosemary A. Nisonger, 98, of Greenville, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013, at the Oakley House in Greenville.

She was born May 5, 1914, in Darke County, daughter of the late Leo and Matilda (Stammen) Barga. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Nisonger, on July 30, 2003; an infant daughter, Margaret Nisonger; grandsons, Steve & Berry Nisonger; brother, Bernie Barga; and sisters, Donna Homan, Melita Barga and Vivian Barga.

A homemaker, Rosemary was a lifetime member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star, and the Rosary Alter Society of St. Louis.

She is survived by her children, Norma (Clete) Skrabak, of Everett, Washington, Susan (Don) Hughes, Manchester, MO, Kathleen (Joe) Marotta of Steubenville, OH, Roseann (Dennis) Parks of Atascaero, CA, Dan (Wilma Jean) Nisonger of Greenville, Tom (Ann) Nisonger of West Liberty, OH, and Dick (Aleta) Nisonger of Belle Center, OH; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren;1 great great grandchild; a brother, Jim (Pauline) Barga of Rossburg; and sister, Eileen Barrett of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard O. "Ricky" Childers (April 20, 2013)

Richard O. "Ricky" Childers, 22, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning, April 20, 2013, in the emergency room of Grandview Hospital in Dayton after a lengthy illness.

He was born October 25, 1990, in Daytona Beach, Florida, son of Kathy Lovejoy of Greenville and the late Russell Childers. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Brumbaugh.

Ricky was a 2008 graduate of Ansonia High School. An avid gamer, he loved to play games on the X-Box, computer, cell phone, or any other media.

Delbert J. Grilliot (April 21, 2013)

Delbert J. Grilliot age 90 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:00 P.M. Sunday April 21, 2013 at the Oakley House of Greenville. He was born January 15, 1923 in Shelby County Ohio and the son of the late Otto and Magdalene (Barhorst) Grilliot.

Delbert was the original owner of Grilliot Alignment for 47 years and was a Veteran of WW II serving in the Army.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville, Knights of Columbus of Versailles, the Greenville Elks Lodge and enjoyed playing golf, cards, dancing and bingo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ida (Seger) Grilliot in 1991; second wife Wilda M. (Kendall) “Blumenstock” Grilliot in 2005; brothers Cleo Grilliot and Mark Grilliot; and sister Mary Lou Monnin.

Delbert is survived by his son Ron Grilliot of Greenville; daughter Peg Grilliot of Columbia, SC and daughter and son in law Deborah Grilliot Reeves and Michael Reeves of Avon, IN; grandchildren Tracy Grilliot and Eli Edwards of Seattle, WA, Brent and Jamie Grilliot of Fairborn, Jill Megan Grilliot of Carrollton, GA and Mikayla Benge of Avon, IN; great grandchild Mia Grilliot, Luke Grilliot and Owen Grilliot Edwards; brothers and sisters in law Purcell and Louise Grilliot of Versailles and Anthony (Tony) and Marita Grilliot of Celina; sisters and brothers in law Dolores Siegrist of Ft. Recovery, Elaine Berger, and Anna Schmitz both of Versailles, Henrietta and Thomas Winner of Osgood and sister in law Jeanette Grilliot of Beaver Creek.

Lois “Maxine” (Engle) Heise (April 20, 2013)

Lois “Maxine” (Engle) Heise died on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Maxine was born December 23, 1925, near Abilene, Kansas, daughter of the late Earl and Minnie Engle.

She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at age 9. As a teenager, she was baptized and joined the Brethren in Christ church.

She graduated from Dickinson County High School, Chapman, Kansas, in 1943. Following high school, she taught in a one-room country school for two years. She attended Messiah College in Pennsylvania and Beulah College in California. She was a registered nurse, having graduated from Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas.

Maxine married Alvin Heise on September 3, 1950. After Alvin finished medical school, they served at the Brethren in Christ Navajo Mission in New Mexico from January 1956 to July 1959. From there they moved to New Madison, OH, where they raised their five children and Alvin was in medical practice. After Alvin’s death, Maxine moved to the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville in October 1991, where she enjoyed living during her retirement years. In May 2012 she moved to Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, PA to be closer to family.

Her children remember Maxine as a gentle and loving mother, with an optimistic outlook. We are grateful for her prayers for us throughout her life, and believe she made the best apple pie ever! She enjoyed tending the flowerbeds around her home, watching Jeopardy and playing Scrabble.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Alvin L. Heise, on March 31, 1991; and by her sister Kathryn Engle and brother Earl Engle, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Glen (Wanda) Heise, Harrisburg, PA; Lois (Daryl) Climenhaga, Steinbach, Manitoba; Carol Heise (Charles Romero), Albuquerque, NM; Mark (Melissa) Heise, Pottstown, PA; and Janet (Chad) Green, Carlsbad, CA; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Mahlon (Irene) Engle, Abilene, KS; a sister Doris Mason, Wichita, KS; and sister-in-law Esther Engle, Colorado City, CO. Locally, she is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jesse and Fern Heise, Pitsburg.

A funeral service will be held at the Brethren Retirement Community chapel, Greenville, on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison. There will be a meal at 5 pm in the Brick Room of the BRC. Arrangements are under the direction of the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. In Pennsylvania, a memorial service is planned at Messiah Village chapel, Mechanicsburg, on June 8, 2013, at 11 am, with visitation at 10 am, and a luncheon at noon. Those arrangements are by Cocklin Funeral Home, Dillsburg.

Deloris V. Hesson, 95, of Yorkshire, OH, passed away early Monday morning, April 22, 2013 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born February 23, 1918 in Lightsville, daughter of the late Omer Elsworth and Elsie Estella (Sharp) Booker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, LaVera Garland and a great grandson.

A homemaker, Deloris helped her husband on the family farm. She was a former member of the Yorkshire United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, George W. Hesson, whom she married May 17, 1941; sons, Larry (Joan) Hesson of North Star, and Robert (Paula) Hesson of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Donna (Alan) Jutte, Deb (Bill) Hemmelgarn, Doug (Sherry) Hesson, Sherri Robinson, Stacey Pond; 15 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren, Angie, Sunni, Becky, and Marcy Jett; 2 step great grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Booker of Greenville.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 26, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles.

Frederick is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Hope & Bruce Jennings of Troy; sons, Scott Jones of Michigan and Wayne Jones of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jesse Rogers, Matthew Jennings, Jason Jones and Alex Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Jones, Richard Jones, Mike Orzetti and Joe Orzetti all of Niagara Falls, New York; and numerous sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Frederick is also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia J. “Pat” (Roth) Jones on December 27, 2008 whom he married June 23, 1990; and brothers, Larry, Bill and David Jones.

Frederick retired from B.F. Goodrich in Troy.

Clyde M.Hoskins, 88, of Union City, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Heartland of Greenville.

He was born December 27, 1924 in Garrard County Kentucky, son of the late William Edward and Daisy Belle (Hulett) Hoskins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters; Rosa Bowman, Ethel Lumpkin, Lynn Cooley and Ora Huff; brother, William Hoskins; one great granddaughter and one great-great grandson.

He is survived by his wife Eileen (Hartzell) Hoskins whom he married July 3, 1966; two sons, Ronald Hoskins and Rick (Debi) Hoskins both of Greenville, OH and a daughter Donna (Greg) Stickler of Blanchester, OH; 12 grand children, 16 great grand children, 11 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, OH.

Raymond H. McNutt Sr. age 74, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:51 A.M. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville. Raymond was born September 15, 1938 in Greenville to the late Emerson & Minerva (Fashner) McNutt.

Raymond is survived by his sons, Michael Brown of Greenville, Raymond McNutt Jr. of Greenville and Harry McNutt of Greenville; daughters, Melissa Brandon of Greenville, Starla Bowers of Greenville, Linda Bridges of Union City, Ohio and Raymonda Beardall of Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Frantz of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymond is also preceded in death by his wife, Tampa L. (Lines) McNutt on October 10, 2009 whom he married November 9, 1968; granddaughters, Kimberly Brown and Robin Megan McNutt; and sisters, Ruth Sutton, Janet Bunger, Mary Clark & Fay Smith.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the City of Greenville Street Maintenance Department with 32 years of service. Raymond was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post#140 and Greenville Eagles.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Greenville Cemetery with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Ronald Edwin Overfield, 76, of Greenville passed away April 15, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Ronald was born on February 2, 1937 in North Lewisburg, Ohio to the late Alfred and Hazel (Russel) Overfield.

Ronald worked at Harvest Land in Eldorado.

In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by three brothers, Gene Overfield, Rick Overfield, and Jim Overfield.

Those left to cherish his memory include Patricia (Jenkins) Overfield of Groveland, Florida; a daughter, Barbara Ortega of Groveland, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Melody Overfield of New Madison and Byron and Melinda Overfield of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Amber and Alan Harsh, Jeff and Julie Overfield, Addie Overfield, Brent Overfield, Brooke Overfield, Amanda Ortega and Wyatt Ortega; five great grandchildren, Nora, Grace and Claire Harsh and Jaxen and Jace Overfield; a brother, Randy Overfield of Marysville; two sisters, Glenna Klotts of Urbana and Karen Dunham of Urbana.

Leona E. Dickey 90, of Rossburg passed away early Wednesday morning, April 17, 2013 at the Versailles Health Care Center in Versailles, Ohio.

She was born July 7, 1922 in Cynthiann Township, Shelby County, Ohio, daughter of the late Cleo and Nellie (Christian) Schlecty. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dickey: sons, Douglas E. Dickey and Steven R. Dickey;a grandson, George B. Moore, III; son-in-law, George Moore; brothers, Paul and Raymond Schlecty; sisters, Elsie Grilliot, Carol Trittschuh and Mabel Cain.

Leona was a devoted mother and homemaker. Member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church and Ansonia American Legion Auxiliary.

She was survived by her children, Vera Moore of Greenville, OH, Norman (Toni) Dickey of London, OH, Dennis (Rowena) Dickey of Covington, OH; grandchildren, Jeffery (Cathy) Moore and Greg (Cindy) Moore, Bill and Katie Dickey; great grandchildren, Holly, Alysa, Ashton, and Autumn Moore; great great granddaughter, Maddie Moore; brother, Norman (Rochelle) Schlecty; and a sister, Marybel (JD) Weaver.

Jeffrey A. Spencer, age 50 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Sunday April 14, 2013 at his residence. Jeff was born August 31, 1962 in Union City, Indiana and the son of Dixie (Wills) Stickelman and his Step Father Max Stickelman of New Paris, Ohio and the late Philip Spencer.

He had been employed in sales at Hittle Buick/GMC of Greenville for 23 years.

Jeff enjoyed boating at Lake Cumberland, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife Janese and hanging out with good friends.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a Step Father Kenny Hemmerich.

Survivors, in addition to his mother and step father are his wife Janese (Riegle) Spencer of Greenville. They were married in 1984. Also sons and daughters in law Wes and Caitlin Spencer and Austin and Emily Spencer all of Greenville. Brothers John Spencer of Farmersville, Jerry Spencer of London, Ohio, Joe Spencer of Pendleton, Indiana, James Spencer of Ansonia and Jason Hemmerich of Ansonia. Also numerous nieces, nephews and his grand dogs Zane and Charlie Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 18, 2013 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Steve Short officiating. Gordon A. Yount, age 82, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 6:15 PM at his residence. He was born on May 27, 1930 in Bradford, Ohio to the late Gordon M. & Frances (Teeter) Yount.

Gordon retired from Master Industries in Ansonia, Ohio and also worked at Argosy-Airstream in Versailles. He was a member of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member and Past Master of the Versailles Masonic Lodge #290. He served as District Education Officer and he was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Third Masonic District. Also was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Gordon was very active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles, Town and Country Players and Town Council.

He is together again with his wife Patricia J. “Pat” Yount whom he married on June 25, 1955. He is also preceded in death by his parents.

Gordon is survived by his daughters & sons in law, Deb & Steve Martin of Milford, Ohio, Tammie & Mike Lewis of Versailles, Kelly & Doug McEldowney of Medina, Ohio and Lisa & Don Berning of Versailles; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert & Wilma Yount of West Palm Beach, FL.; Janet Novak of Melbourne, FL.; and Caroli Miller of Tipp City, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Robert Akins officiating. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his oldest brother, William Dean Bush; brother-in-law, Richard Webb and two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Forsythe) Lambert and Mary Lou Lambert.

Richard has left behind a daughter and son-in-law John and Brenda (Lambert) Benner II of Lewisburg, OH; a son, Richard O. Lambert, Jr. of Greenville OH; 3 grandchildren, Casey, Kyle and Madeline; Six brothers and sisters, Theodore E. Lambert of Lewisburg OH, Russell A. Lambert of Brookville OH, Judith C. Webb of Greenville OH, Carol (Larry) Stout of Donnalfonville GA, Robert (Patricia) Lambert of Arcanum OH, and Marita (Terry) Hildebrand of West Milton OH, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bobby C. “Bob” Smith, age 76, of Greenville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord and his wife on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 7:21 PM at Heartland of Greenville. He was born on March 27, 1937 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Oscar & Della (Murray) Smith.

He is survived by his; daughters and sons in law, Diana & Toby Weherley of Greenville, and Lisa & Doug Cole of Greenville; son and daughter in law, Kevin & Dianne Smith of Union City, Ohio; grandchildren, Dwain (Angie Pullano) Hodge, Krystin (Michael) Wolfe, Travis Weherley, Tiffany (Ryan Foshee) Weherley, Christal Smith, Christine Sullivan, Savannah Bowles and Kenneth McFarland; great grandchildren, Dwain Hodge II, Aiden Cole Foshee, Peyton Wolfe and Connor Wolfe; brothers and sister in law, Johnny & Doloris Smith of Alabama and Harvey Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; sister Martha Barnes of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. (Barnes) Smith whom he married on September 13, 1958; brothers, Raymond E. Smith, Donald L. Smith and Bill E. Smith; sister Rosie Harman.

Bob retired in 1994 from Wayne Division School Bus Plant after 28 ½ years of service. He was a member of the United States Air Force and attended the Triumphant Christian Center in Greenville. He loved the Lord and loved to make people laugh. Bob loved bowling, fishing, golfing, having coffee with friends and most of all spending time with his family. He was also an Ordained Minister through the United Baptist Church.

There will be a service held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Triumphant Christian Center, 1129 South Town Court, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Sam Shilot officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Karen had worked for over 30 years at Richmond State Hospital as a pharmacy tech. She was a 1972 graduate of Richmond High School. Karen loved to be with her family. Her grandkids were involved in many sports and she loved going to watch them at their sporting events. She and her husband, Bob, liked to go bowling when they were younger.

Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Wissler in December 2012 and her son, Daniel Hager in September 2012.

Left to cherish her memory, is her husband, Bob Hager, whom she married June 1, 1973; son and daughter in law; Robbie and Christy Hager of New Madison; daughter and son in law, Mandy and Kenny Mann of Eaton; eight grandchildren, Brent, Dylan, Kynnedi and Reagyin Hager, Danika Mann, Dessa Hager, Trey, Payton and Madisyn Mann; four sisters and brothers in law, Ann Toney of Richmond, Linda and Tom Sheard of Richmond, Roberta and Mark Porter of Richmond and Vicki Phelps of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held, at Cedar Grove Church, 373 Love Road, New Paris on Thursday, April 11,2013 at 7:00pm with Pastors Tony Price and Kyle Hermann officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 4:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm. James E. Copeland age 84, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 11:40 A.M. on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Versailles Health Care Center. James was born May 7, 1928 in Oran, Ohio to the late Ancil & Hettie J. (Rayborn) Copeland.

James is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Denny & Chris Copeland of Versailles; daughter, Brenda Detrick of Troy; grandchildren, Shelly Hedrick, Jason Setser, Travis Copeland, Todd Setser, Andrea Wagner, Kimberly Carico and Sean Brookbank; 15 great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Linda Copeland of Ansonia; and sister, Frances Wilt of Rockford, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, James is also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Joan (Allread) Copeland on May 8, 2008 who he married January 21, 1950; and a daughter, Deborah Copeland.

Jim was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church, Farm Power of the Past; Darke County Steam Threshers and was a Golden Eagle member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Rick Gutheil officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Reba Denise Sink, age 56, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 9:45 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on July 3, 1956 in Gosport, Indiana, to Jane (Skelton) Dailey of Leigh High Acres, Florida and the late Richard Sink.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her sons, Keith Rhoades of Union City, Ohio, and Bryant Rhoades of Union City, Ohio; grandson, Aiden Rhoades; brother, James Sink; Aunt, Teresa Anderson and Uncle, Larry Brewer.

Reba was preceded in death by her father and grandmothers, Dorothy Brewer and Ruth Skelton. Reba really enjoyed sewing as a hobby.

Velma Cathleen “Catty” Holmes, 88 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013 at 11:58 PM at Wayne Healthcare. She was born January 31, 1925 in Tucker County, West Virginia the daughter of the late Howard & Carrie (Shaffer) Price. She was a cabinet maker at Delmar in Union City retiring in 1986. She also was active in various charities donating to them and helping them with phone calls. She was a member of Savonna Church and attended Hollansburg Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Harold W. Holmes on November 24, 2012; Son: Marion Holmes; Sisters: Belva Poling, Geraldine Shriver, & Vauda Paul.

She is survived by her daughter: Marcia Garland of Greenville; 3 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; 4 step great great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.

He was a Former Wayne Twp. Trustee; A life member of AMVETS Post 66; life member of Treaty City Motorcycle Club; member of the Versailles American Legion; member of Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Mary Lou Marker (April 6, 2013)

Mary Lou Marker, age 84 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:55 P.M. Saturday April 6, 2013 at the Sterling House of Greenville. She was born December 29, 1928 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Routson) Sackett.

Mary Lou was a homemaker, a devoted wife and mother with a warm and welcoming heart for her family and friends. She was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Sackett Jr. and Robert Sackett. Also her sister Kathryn Powell.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband Dale M. Marker of Greenville. They were married May 17, 1947. Also son and daughter in law Stephen and Barbara Marker of Greenville; daughters and son in law Carol Griffith of Greenville and Linda and Kirk Morrison of Tipp City; grandchildren Matthew (Karmen) Marker, Ryan (Lori) Marker, Jessica (Eric) Osswald, Kevin Griffith, Brian (Jessica) Griffith, Jennifer Allen, Stephani (Andy) Tarter, Aaron (Stephani) Morrison and Megan (Kevin) Roberts; great grandchildren Devin, Laren, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Alec, Jacob, Trevor, Bella, Mason and Jori as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 10, 2013 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Fred Bernhard officiating. She was born April 26, 1940, in Bloomfield Kentucky, the daughter of the late Willie and Arbel (Keeling) Lewis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Powell on May 15, 2010, 1 brother Donnie Lewis, and 1 sister Grace Jewel.

Pauline had retired from Center of Hope in Union City, OH, where she had worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Union City, IN.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Sue (Brown) Powell of Nappanee, IN, Clarke and Lori (Norris) Powell of Portland, IN, Tony and Angie (Jenkins) Powell of Leesburg, IN, and Willie and Tina (Burns) Powell of Versailles, OH;

Howard W. “Wally” Warren (January 6, 2013)

Howard W. “Wally” Warren, age 84, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 1:15 PM at Village Green Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on October 18, 1928 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Howard Thomas “Jack” & Martha Lee (Arnett) Warren.

Wally is survived by his wife, Mary E. “Elberta” (Dixon) Warren of Greenville, Ohio; son, David Warren of Greenville; daughter and son in law, Connie & Ronald Walterbusch of Maria Stein, Ohio; step grandchildren, Stacy Walterbusch of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Jon Walterbusch of Minster, Ohio; brother and sister in law, Jim & June Warren of Greenfield, Tennessee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Wally’s family owned and operated Warren Stores and then retired from Fram. He was a member of the United States Army during the Korean conflict from 1950-1952 and was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville and the American Legion.

There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday April 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with a graveside service following in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00-10:30 at the funeral home.

Ronald F. Hohler (March 31, 2013)

Ronald F. Hohler, 70, of Greenville, passed away Sunday morning, March 31, 2013, at his residence.

He was born September 4, 1942, in Dayton, son of the late Charles and Ruth (McKee) Hohler.

Ron was retired from Second National Bank. After retirement he had worked for the The Farmers State Bank. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was a past officer in the VFW Post 7262, Past Exulted Ruler of the Elk's Lodge, and a member of the Moose and Masonic Lodges.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susan K. (Cole) Hohler, whom he married April 17, 1982; children, Michael (Donna) Hohler, Terri (John) Fish, Ben (Tracey) Cassel, and Betsy (Aaron) Ward; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Private services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held Thursday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be given to the Darke County Humane Society.

Russel H. Harpest (March 30, 2013)

Russel H. Harpest, 94, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning, March 30, 2013 at Oakley House in Greenville, Ohio.

He was born October 23, 1918 in Darke County, son of the late Clarence and Vera (Hern) Harpest. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha B (Beery) Harpest on April 5, 2004; a grandson, Ted Harpest; a brother, Harold Harpest; and sisters, Melba Rice and Ruth Schlechty.

Russel was a retired tool and die maker having worked for Detroit Tap and Tool. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Greenville.

He is survived by his children, Gloria Harpest of Greenville, Fred (Sharon) Harpest of Greenville, and Rosalie (Tom) Wade of Stuart, FL; grandchildren, Lyndie (Nathan) Sabin, Karie Harpest, Kaci Harpest, Nicole Meisner, Nathan Meisner, Philip Meisner, and Holden Meisner; great grandchildren, Austin, Adrienne, and Abrielle Sabin; a brother, Lloyd Harpest; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, April 5, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy A. Kruckeberg (March 31, 2013)

Dorothy A. Kruckeberg, she has climbed her mountain to take the hands of Angels in eternal peace. Dorothy Ann Kruckeberg born February 3, 1937 in Minnesota passed from this life at 5:48 A.M. on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in her home after an extended illness.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Robert W. Kruckeberg of Versailles; daughter, Terri and husband, Terry Livesay of Piqua; granddaughter, Jamie; great-grandsons, Casey & Tyler; great granddaughter, Jessie Ann; son, Bobby and wife, Diana Kruckeberg of Greenville; granddaughter, Kiersten Finley; great-granddaughters, Malaini and Kerri; grandsons, Nathaniel, Justin, Austin, Brian and Gabriel; son, Steve preceded Dorothy in death after a sudden illness in September 2010, his wife Irene survives in Montana as well as Steve’s children, Jacob of Montana, Chelcie Patterson of Sidney and Robert Monnin of Russia.

Further survivors include sisters-in-law, Esther Heft of Versailles, Florence Putterbaugh of Columbus and Alice Swinger of Greenville; brother-in-law, Lawrence Kruckeberg and wife, Susette of Versailles; as well as many nieces, nephews and their families and many friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Raverty; an infant brother of Minnesota; many years ago and more recently sisters, Bea Sitton and Elaine Morrison; and brothers, Harold and Tommy Raverty. Surviving siblings include sisters, Delores Ready of Michigan, LaDonna Tyrrell of Minnesota and Mary Skarset of Minnesota; brothers, Pat, Mike, Daniel, Ronnie and Richard of Minnesota, and David of Georgia and their families.

Dorothy enjoyed a full life and especially the nearly 30 years she and Bob spent in the wide open spaces of Montana. We will surely miss her laugh and her easy smile, but we will find our peace knowing she will always be with us as we climb our mountain and meet again.

Dan H. Poling (March 29, 2013)

Dan H. Poling, 78, of Hollansburg passed away on March 29, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Dan was born December 2, 1934 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Goldie (Harsh) Poling.

Dan was a truck driver and had driven for Klingshirn and Sons, as well as Erwin Brothers. He was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge #329. Dan loved all types of auto racing. He enjoyed going to Eldora and other local race tracks and was a member of the Dayton Auto Race Fan (DARF). Dan loved to watch sports, especially basketball and football. He honorably served our country in the United States Army. Most of all, Dan was a kidder. He loved to tease all of his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by a brother, James Poling.

To cherish his memory, Dan leaves behind his wife, Sue (Abner) Poling of Hollansburg; a son and daughter in law, Lincoln and Beckam Poling of Greenville; a daughter, Toni Corey of Greenville; two nephews, Rob and Beck Poling and Monte and Sally Poling; a niece, Lori and Andy Rammel; three step-children; five grandchildren; and nine great, grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service. Burial will follow at Hollansburg Cemetery.
