Cecelia Margaret Subler age 96 of Frenchtown, Ohio passed away at 10:00 P.M. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Otterbein St. Marys in St. Marys, Ohio. Cecelia was born May 26, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Leonard “L.O.” & Margaret (Henry) Barga.
Cecelia is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Ronald Subler & Marie Gouin of New Hampshire, George & Kathy Subler of Versailles, Ohio and William & Mary Subler of Moore, South Carolina; daughters & sons-in-law, Joan & Jerry Knapke of Hamler, Ohio and Jayne & Mike Schlater of St. Marys, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters-in-law, James & Carolyn Barga of Versailles, Ohio and Robert & JoAnn Barga of Tipton, Indiana; sisters & brother-in-law, Rosella Braun of Coldwater, Ohio and Martha & Tom Murphy of Piqua, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Alma Kissinger of Versailles, Ohio and Ruth Monnin of Beavercreek, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cecelia is also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Franklin Subler on October 6, 1987 whom she married June 29, 1940; brothers, Gerald “Cy”, Francis “Bill” and Luke Barga; and sister, Mildred Thobe.
Cecelia was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown and St. Ann Sodality.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown, Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Frenchtown, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles, Ohio.
